Swimming stroke alignment tool
A training aid to correct arm position during the pulling phase of butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, or crawl also referred to as freestyle, when swimming. The disclosed tool provides physical pressure to correct a common swimming error. Said tool prevents medial rotation of the glenohumeral joint of the shoulder rotator cuff during the catch and pull portion of swimming.
Parallel Bar Stand Assistance Device
A parallel bar stand assistance device is provided. The parallel bar stand assistance device includes a first bar and a second bar that are placed in a vertical configuration. The first bar and the second bar are in a parallel alignment with each other. A first arm support is placed on the top end of the first bar, while a second arm support is placed on the top end of the second bar. A first leg support is slidable and is placed on the inner face of the first bar. A second leg support is slidable and is placed on the inner face of the second bar.
System And Method For Networking Fitness Machines
A system and method for networking fitness machines for allowing an instructor to control various settings for a plurality of exercise machines simultaneously, and for allowing an individual user and/or trainer to modify the settings of an individual exercise machine. The system and method for networking fitness machines generally includes a trainer remote control device, one or more machine-mounted onboard trainer controllers, and a machine-mounted onboard user controller. The trainer remote control device may be securely mounted to the arm of a trainer so that the trainer's hands remain free to instruct exercisers. The trainer remote control device includes a touch screen that displays selections corresponding to various settings on the exercise machines. The trainer remote control communicates with the plurality of exercise machines via a wireless network or Bluetooth connection allowing the trainer to change the settings of a plurality of exercise machines in a class mode simultaneously.
EXERCISE DEVICES FOR MUSCLE ISOLATION
Methods and devices for isolating muscle groups during exercise are provided. According to an aspect of the invention, a device includes a first strap that has a first loop shape, a second strap that has a second closed loop shape defining a fixed opening, and a third strap that has a third closed loop shape. A first portion of the first strap is affixed to or integral with the second strap, a second portion of the first strap is arranged to be movable within the fixed opening defined by the second closed loop shape, the second portion of the first strap is affixed to or integral with the third strap, and a first adjustable opening within the first loop shape is configured to be adjusted by changing a relative position of the second portion of the first strap and the fixed opening defined by the second closed loop shape.
Orthotic shoulder support
An orthotic support comprises a shoulder section for encapsulating a first shoulder of a wearer, a glove section for conforming to at least a portion of the wearer's hand, and a sleeve section for conforming to the wearer's arm, the sleeve section connecting the shoulder section to the glove section. A resilient reinforcement extends from the glove section to the shoulder section, and at least a portion of the reinforcement extends in a spiral around the sleeve section, so that the reinforcement is configured to apply a rotational force to the wearer's arm, when worn, to urge a portion of the wearer's arm to rotate in a predetermined direction. The orthotic support may be usable to treat or prevent shoulder dislocation or subluxation, arm over-pronation or over-supination, wrist flexion or elbow flexion. An orthotic support may comprise a reinforcement with a first branch extending over an anterior portion of the sleeve section, and a second branch extending over a posterior portion of the sleeve section, so that the reinforcement is configured to urge the wearer's upper arm towards a rest position.
Programmable range of motion system
A programmable range of motion system has a frame, a range of motion device, a controller, a computer and sensors. The frame has a seat to support a rehab patient. The range of motion device is attached to the frame. The actuator, servo or alternate mechanism selectively rotates the range of motion device through a range of motion for a rehab patient's limb. The controller controls the actuator, servo or alternate mechanism. The computer is connected electronically to the controller. The computer has a software, program or application including a plurality of programmable range of motion movements for exercising the limb. The sensor detects movements of the actuator, servo or alternate mechanism and records data back to the computer. The term actuator as used hereafter includes servo or alternate articulating mechanism.
Exercise devices for muscle isolation
An exercise device is provided to couple a user's limb to a resistance mechanism and to tighten on the user's limb by a force applied in opposition to the resistance mechanism. The device may include a strap including a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion. The strap may define an adjustable opening configured to receive the user's limb. The first portion and the third portion of the strap may be attached to a closed loop shape configured for coupling to the resistance mechanism. A fixed opening may be coupled to the strap, and the adjustable opening of the strap may be formed by passing the second portion of the strap through the fixed opening. The device may also include a flexible material coupled to the strap and defining a tube providing the fixed opening.
SWING TRAINING DEVICE
A swing training device for practicing a sports swing that includes a body having a first end region and a second end region and a receiving slot extending along the body. At least one attachment member is received within the receiving slot and is adapted to couple the first end region and the second end region to define a hollow shape. In some embodiments, the first end region and the second end region are adapted to translate relative to each other along the slot.
JOINT SPARING WEIGHTED GARMENT
A joint-sparing weighted garment for effective weight loading and distribution of a user that mimics the anatomical distribution of muscle mass while providing support to the major joints through weight-avoidance areas. Additionally, strategic weight-avoidance zones are reinforced to provide compression to the joints in a circumferential manner lessening the stress and strain on major joints, tendons, and ligaments.
Arm-training device
An arm-training device, and methods of making and using such an arm-training device, whereby the arm-training device includes a flexible elongate member having an elastic length disposed between opposing first and second ends; a first loop formed proximate the first end; a second loop formed proximate the second end; a first slide coupled to the first loop, the first slide movable along the length of the elongate member; and a second slide coupled to the second loop, the second slide movable along the length of the elongate member.
