Event camera hardware
A method of producing an image frame from event packets received from an event camera comprises: forming a tile buffer sized to accumulate event information for a subset of image tiles, the tile buffer having an associated tile table that determines a mapping between each tile of the image frame for which event information is accumulated in the tile buffer and the image frame. For each event packet: an image tile corresponding to the pixel location of the event packet is identified; responsive to the tile buffer storing information for one other event corresponding to the image tile, event information is added to the tile buffer; and responsive to the tile buffer not storing information for another event corresponding to the image tile and responsive to the tile buffer being capable of accumulating event information for at least one more tile, the image tile is added to the tile buffer.
Temporal alignment system and method
A temporal alignment system and method for example for detecting temporal misalignment in video frames when the frames are divided for transport using a signal divider for dividing a single signal S into portions S.sub.1 . . . S.sub.N and using average picture level in determining whether data sets within a particular frame are misaligned.
DISPLAY DEVICE, DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY RECORDING MEDIUM
A display device includes a receiver that receives at least video data and genre information, an acquirer that acquires image quality information corresponding to the genre information, a genre detector that detects a change in the genre information, a scene detector that detects a scene change of the video data, and a controller that performs, when a change in the genre information is detected, control such that image quality of the video data is set based on image quality information corresponding to the changed genre information after the change is detected and after the scene change is detected.
DATA PROCESSING DEVICE AND DATA PROCESSING METHOD
A data processing device includes: a digital signal processor; at least one processor; and at least one memory device configured to store a plurality of instructions, which when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate to: output a first determination result relating to a scene of content through use of sound data; select processing for the sound data by a first selection method based on the first determination result; determine an attribute of the content from among a plurality of attribute candidates; and select the processing by a second selection method, which is different from the first selection method, based on a determination result of the attribute, wherein the digital signal processor is configured to execute the processing selected by the at least one processor on the sound data.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SMART VIDEO SKIPPING
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include obtaining a first media content item comprising a plurality of content segments. For each content segment of the plurality of content segments of the first media content item, comparing the content segment and a prior content segment to identify a content transition, analyzing the content segment to identify a content marker in the content segment, determining a viewing characteristic of the content segment according to the content transition and the content marker, determining if the content segment is unnecessary according to the viewing characteristic, and updating a set of skipping instructions associated with the first media content item responsive to the determining the content segment is unnecessary, and presenting the first media content item at a first device according to the set of skipping instructions associated with the first media content item. Other embodiments are disclosed.
SOCIAL NETWORKING SYSTEM TARGETED MESSAGE SYNCHRONIZATION
Targeted messages are sent to users of social networking system (SNS) based on the detection of airings of advertisements in time-based media. This approach allows advertisers to leverage their investment in, for example, television advertising by sending advertisements to SNS users who have likely seen the advertisements within shows that they have expressed interest in in the context of a SNS. Time-based media streams are analyzed to detect the airings of advertisements within those streams. In one embodiment, SNS content items are received regarding individual users. Based on references in those content items between users and their interests, targeted messages may be sent to users. In another embodiment, targeted messages are sent to SNS users based on the airing of advertisements and targeting criteria provided by advertisers.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
There is provided an image archiving method for use with a writing target, comprising the steps of receiving a series of captured images of the writing target, detecting difference between first and second candidate received images separated by a predetermined period of time, where additive differences are indicative of writing and subtractive differences are indicative of erasure; upon detecting subtractive difference, temporarily retaining a last candidate image captured prior to the detection, and detecting whether the subtractive difference relative to the retained image exceeds a subtraction threshold amount; and if so, then storing the retained image.

TECHNOLOGY TO ACCELERATE SCENE CHANGE DETECTION AND ACHIEVE ADAPTIVE CONTENT DISPLAY
Systems, apparatuses and methods may include a source device that generates a scene change notification in response to a movement of a camera, modifies an encoding scheme associated with the video content captured by the camera in response to the scene change notification, identifies a full-frame difference threshold, wherein scene analysis information includes frame difference data, and compares the frame difference data to an intermediate threshold that is less than the full-frame difference threshold, wherein the scene change notification is generated when the frame difference data exceeds the intermediate threshold. A sink device may obtain transport quality data associated with video content, modify an output parameter of a display based on the transport quality data, determine a view perspective of a still image containing a plurality of image slices, retrieve only a subset of the plurality of image slices based on the view perspective and decode the retrieved subset.
