METHOD OF ADJUSTING VIDEO TO MINIMISE OR REMOVE PSE TRIGGERS
A method of adjusting video image data to reduce photosensitive epilepsy (“PSE”) triggers, the method including evaluating a sequence of video images to determine if the number of changes in brightness exceeding a predetermined threshold between contiguous images is greater than a predetermined value over a predetermined time or predetermined number of video images; and if the determined number exceeds the predetermined value then applying a correction procedure to the sequence of images. The correction procedure includes: for each image, applying a plurality of candidate brightness changes to the image and subsequently determining which of the applied changes result in the number of changes in brightness between contiguous images exceeding the predetermined threshold being reduced to below the predetermined value; and selecting the determined applied change having the smallest brightness change.

PROJECTION DISPLAY APPARATUS AND PROJECTION DISPLAY SYSTEM
A projection display apparatus includes an image inputter configured to input image data, a signal processor configured to perform a gradation conversion for the image data, and a luminance calculator configured to calculate a luminance of a projection image in accordance with a projection state. The signal processor converts a gradation of the image data so as to reduce a difference between a luminance of the projection image and a luminance required by the image data.
Reproduction device, reproduction method, and recording medium
The present technology relates to a reproduction device, a reproduction method, and a recording medium, which are capable of displaying closed captions having a wide dynamic range of luminance at appropriate brightness. HDR closed captions serving as closed captions of a second luminance range that is different from and larger than a first luminance range, tone_mapping_info including HDR information indicating characteristics of luminance of the HDR closed captions, and tone_mapping_info serving as tone mapping definition information used when luminance conversion from the HDR closed captions to STD closed captions serving as closed captions of the first luminance range are recorded on an optical disc. The present technology can be applied to a recording medium on which closed captions are recorded.

Arrangement for, and method of, expeditiously adjusting reading parameters of an imaging reader based on target distance
A distance to a target to be read by image capture over a range of working distances is determined by directing an aiming light spot along an aiming axis to the target, and by capturing a first image of the target containing the aiming light spot, and by capturing a second image of the target without the aiming light spot. Each image is captured in a frame over a field of view having an imaging axis offset from the aiming axis. An image pre-processor compares first image data from the first image with second image data from the second image over a common fractional region of both frames to obtain a position of the aiming light spot in the first image, and determines the distance to the target based on the position of the aiming light spot in the first image.
Video signal processing method for brightness adjustment
A video signal processing device and method thereof are provided in the present application. The video processing device includes a storage and a processor. The storage stores a plurality of brightness mapping relationships. If set brightness corresponding to the brightness mapping relationships does not match the target brightness, the processor selects a first mapping relationship and a second mapping relationship of two pieces of set brightness closing to target brightness from the brightness mapping relationships. A target mapping relationship corresponding to the target brightness is obtained by an interpolation according to the first mapping relationship, the first brightness, the second mapping relationship and the corresponding set brightness. The processor converts nonlinear brightness information of a first video signal into linear brightness information of a second video signal according to the target mapping relationship.
