METHOD, SYSTEM AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR EDITING MOVIES IN DISTRIBUTED SCALABLE MEDIA ENVIRONMENT
20180366161 · 2018-12-20 ·

A movie editor converts a received movie into a proxy format, and creates a texture strip representing the frames of the movie. An editor can use the texture strip to edit the movie, rather than editing the movie directly. Deep tags and/or special effects can be defined for the texture strip using a graphical interface. The graphical interface enables movies to be combined into a playback product according to a control structure graphically presented in the graphical interface.

MOVIE ADVERTISING PLAYBACK SYSTEMS AND METHODS

An ad in a movie can be a static ad having a position in the movie that cannot be moved, or a dynamic ad having a position in the movie that can be changed. When a viewer wishes to skip a portion of the movie containing the ad, the playback system determines whether the ad is static or dynamic. If the ad is static, only the portion of the movie preceding the static ad can be skipped; the ad is unskippable. This technique is referred to as bounceback since the end of the skip bounces back to the start of the static ad. If the ad is dynamic, it is moved to after the end of the skip. This technique is referred to as slip-ad since the ad slips to later in the movie. When a movie has multiple ads, some can be static and some can be dynamic.

Electronic device

An electronic device includes a chip component including a terminal electrode, a case having an accommodation recess accommodating the chip component, a conductive terminal attached to the case and connected to the terminal electrode, and a case cover disposed on an opening-edge surface of the case so as to cover the accommodation recess. The opening-edge surface has an opening-edge recess at least partly covered by the case cover. The opening-edge recess and the case cover have a space therebetween. The space is filled with a resin.

Adapting a playback of a recording to optimize comprehension

Each of segment of a recording is analyzed for complexity specifying a rate of speech at a normal playback speech. A target rate is selected at which to playback the recording, the target rate specifying a fastest optimal speed at which a particular user listening to the recording is able to comprehend the playback. During playback of the recording, a separate adjusted playback rate is selected for each of the segments to adjust the playback rate of speech from the rate of speech at the normal playback speed to the target rate.

ARRAY CAMERA IMAGING SYSTEM HAVING DISTRIBUTED MEMORY

An array-camera imaging system and method for producing a rendered image are presented, wherein the system includes a plurality of imagers, a plurality of image processors, and a plurality of memory modules that are networked with the image processors via a communications bus. Each image processor provides processed and processed image data from at least one imager to the memory modules. Preferably, the processed image data is distributed among the memory modules at multiple resolution scales. In response to a request from an image rendering system, image data is read out from the memory modules at the resolution scale of the request.

STORAGE DEVICE, CONTROL DEVICE, DISPLAY DEVICE, AND STORAGE METHOD

A storage device includes a first storage that stores an image of a machine captured by an imaging device in association with time information indicating a timing at which the machine is imaged, and a second storage that stores control information for controlling the machine. The second storage stores the control information in association with the time information, the control information corresponding to a timing at which a control device that controls the machine acquires the time information from the imaging device.

Methods and systems for resolving recording conflicts in a hybrid cloud-local digital video recording system

An exemplary method includes a cloud-based service provider system detecting an input command provided by a user during a scheduling session and representative of a request for a local digital video recording (DVR) system to record a media program during a presentation time period. In response to the detecting of the input command, the cloud-based service provider system identifies a conflict associated with the request for the local DVR system to record the media program, performs a prioritization operation to determine a relative priority of media programs that are at least one of scheduled to be recorded by the local DVR system at any given time during the presentation time period and currently recorded in a memory of the local DVR system, and automatically performs, based on the performing of the prioritization operation, a predetermined action to resolve the conflict and facilitate the local DVR system recording the media program.

The present technology relates to a reproduction apparatus, an information processing method, and a program which enable the graphics to be superimposed on a video to be converted appropriately. In a format of contents to be reproduced by a reproduction apparatus according to an aspect of the present technology, each of a configuration of a video plane which is a storage area of data before a video that constitutes an output image is synthesized and a configuration of a graphics plane which is a storage area of data before a graphics that constitutes the output image is synthesized is represented by attributes of a resolution, a color gamut, a color depth, and a dynamic range conversion function. Moreover, a plurality of combinations of attributes representing the configuration of the video plane and attributes representing the configuration of the graphics plane are determined in advance. The present technology can be applied to Blu-ray Disc players.

MULTIMEDIA MOBILE PERSONALIZATION SYSTEM

A multimedia mobile personalization system provides a remote control that detects a user's electronic tag, e.g. an RFID tag. The remote control notifies a multimedia device of the user's identity. The multimedia devices tailors it operations to the user's preferences stored locally. Multimedia content such as broadcast or recorded television programs, music play lists, and the like could be sorted, displayed, or restricted, depending on the user identifier.
