Method for forming an output image sequence from an input image sequence, method for reconstructing an input image sequence from an output image sequence, associated devices, server equipment, client equipment and computer programs

A method for forming an image sequence that is an output sequence, from an input image sequence, is provided. The input image sequence has an input spatial resolution and an input temporal resolution. The output sequence has an output temporal resolution equal to the input temporal resolution and an output spatial resolution equal to a predetermined fraction 1/N of the input spatial resolution by an integer number N higher than or equal to 2. The method, implemented for a sub-sequence of the input frame sequence that is a current input sub-sequence and including a preset number of images, includes: obtaining a temporal frequency that is an image frequency, associated with the current input sub-sequence; processing the current input sub-sequence to obtain an output sub-sequence; and inserting the output sub-sequence and the associated image frequency into an output container.

A method for determining location of a premises is disclosed. The method includes measuring a signal strength of a plurality of communication signals received at the premises, obtaining data associated with a source of the signals, estimating a propagation loss for the received signal, determining a distance between a source of each of the signals and the premises based on the estimated propagation loss, and triangulating the location of the premises.

Aspects of the present disclosure involve a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program and a method for receiving, by one or more processors, a video comprising one or more shots in a first aspect ratio; detecting a first shot of the one or more shots, the first shot comprising a sequence of frames; and identifying an object that appears throughout a continuous portion of frames of the sequence of frames in the first shot. A visual presentation of the object in the first shot is automatically modified and a modified video comprising the one or more shots in a second aspect ratio is generated based on the automatically modified visual presentation of the object in the first shot.

Visibility of a description on a description field hidden by a presenter is to be ensured while maintaining a positional relationship between the presenter and the description on the description field. The moving image data obtained by imaging a state where the presenter is giving the description onto the description field is processed to determine the description portion. Display data for displaying each of portions determined to be the description portion as a description is generated and superimposed on moving image data. For example, a difference value for each of pixels between a current frame image and a reference frame image is extracted, a group including a series of consecutive pixels having a difference value being a threshold or more is grasped and then, whether or not the group is a description portion is determined for each of the groups.

Computer-implemented method, device, and computer program product

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a computer-implemented method, a device, and a computer program product. A method includes: determining a first group of frames corresponding to a first scene and a second group of frames corresponding to a second scene different from the first scene in a reference video, respectively. The first group of frames and the second group of frames each have a first resolution. The method further includes determining a first model for the first scene and a second model for the second scene, respectively. The first model and the second model are respectively used to convert frames corresponding to the first scene and the second scene from the first resolution to a second resolution different from the first resolution. The method further includes training the first model and the second model using the first group of frames and the second group of frames, respectively.

A low-resolution image is displayed at high resolution and power consumption is reduced. Resolution is made higher by super-resolution processing. Then, display is performed with the luminance of a backlight controlled by local dimming after the super-resolution processing. By controlling the luminance of the backlight, power consumption can be reduced. Further, by performing the local dimming after the super-resolution processing, accurate display can be performed.

An image processing apparatus obtains a first image of an object based on image capturing by an image capturing apparatus, obtains a parameter concerning a resolution of the first image, and generates a second image of the object having a resolution higher than the resolution of the first image in response to input of input data including the obtained first image and the obtained parameter.

Display devices showing multimedia in multiple resolutions with eye tracking

Techniques for displaying a multimedia in at least two resolutions are discussed. Depending on implementation, a resolution can be a spatial resolution, an intensity level resolution, or both. A display device is designed to ensure better resolution in an area (region of focus or ROF) being focused by eyes of a viewer while relatively poor resolution in the area surrounding the ROF. The ROF moves accordingly with the motion of the pupil. As a result, the perceived resolution by the user remains high while the memory requirement for displaying such media is significantly reduced.

Image processing apparatus and image processing method

For sharpening an input image by up-converting the input image in order to increase the number of pixels of an image and generating a frequency component higher than a frequency component contained in an input image signal representing the input image, the number of multipliers is reduced, thereby achieving significant downsizing of an apparatus and cost reduction. An image processing apparatus includes a path on a base image side for up-converting the input image signal and a path on a sharpening processing side for carrying out nonlinear arithmetic processing on the input image signal. The path on the sharpening processing side includes an up-converter at a subsequent stage of at least one filter, after which the nonlinear arithmetic processing is carried out. The at least one filter may be either a two-dimensional low pass filter for noise removal or a high pass filter for removing a DC component.

Low bandwidth video

Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for enabling a standby mode during videoconferencing, the standby mode having reduced bandwidth consumption and configured to indicate whether a person is present while protecting a privacy of the person. For example, a local device may capture low resolution video data at a low sampling rate, downsample the video data and send the downsampled video data to a remote device, which may upsample the downsampled video data and display the upsampled video data on a display. The upsampled video data indicates an environment of the local device while blurring details, enabling a user of the remote device to identify movement or activity while maintaining privacy for anyone near the local device. The local device may identify activity, motion and/or objects of interest in the video data and may apply a special effect emphasizing the activity, motion and/or objects of interest.
