A microscope includes a digital imaging device. The digital imaging device comprises a processor which is configured to: obtain a number of digital grayscale images of an object at a number of different spectral sensitivities, each of the digital grayscale images including grayscale information based on a different one of the different spectral sensitivities, obtain a number of weighting factors for each of the digital grayscale images, the weighting factors being allocated to a number of color channels defining a predetermined color space, and synthesize a digital color image of the object from the digital grayscale images in the color space by distributing the grayscale information of each grayscale image over the color channels in accordance with the weighting factors.

Imaging elements with color filters are sold, and an appropriate combination of the imaging element and a lens or the like is incorporated in an electronic device. Only providing a color filter to overlap a light-receiving region of an image sensor reduces the amount of light reaching the light-receiving region.

An imaging system of the present invention includes a solid-state imaging element without a color filter, a storage device, and a learning device. As a selection standard for reducing the amount of learning data, in an HSV color space, saturation is used, and selection is performed so that the saturation has optimal distribution. When colorization disclosed in this specification is performed, the colorization and object highlight processing can be performed at the same time.

The image sensor converts the target light into an image signal through the RGB channels, the IR channel and the W channel. The image processor analyzes the image signal into RGB color signals and a brightness signal, and fuses the RGB color signals and the brightness signal to obtain a fused image. The collection of the channels based on which the RGB color signals and the brightness signal are obtained includes the five types of photosensitive channels.

A multi-spectrum based image fusion apparatus is disclosed, which includes a light acquisition device, an image processor, and an image sensor having five types of photosensitive channels. The five types of photosensitive channels including red, green and blue RGB channels, an infrared IR channel and a full-band W channel. The light acquisition device acquires target light corresponding to incident light. The image sensor converts the target light into an image signal through the RGB channels, the IR channel and the W channel. The image processor analyzes the image signal into RGB color signals and a brightness signal, and fuses the RGB color signals and the brightness signal to obtain a fused image. The collection of the channels based on which the RGB color signals and the brightness signal are obtained includes the five types of photosensitive channels.
