Image reproducing apparatus and method for controlling same
An image reproducing apparatus including a selection unit configured to select a still image to be reproduced, a moving image to be reproduced, and a reproduction range of the moving image from a recording medium in which a plurality of still images and moving images is recorded, and a reproduction control unit configured to perform control to sequentially reproduce the still image and the reproduction range of the moving image selected to be reproduced by the selection unit, the selection unit being configured to perform control so that both a still image and a range of a moving image in which the still image is inserted are not selected to be reproduced.
Detection of transitions between text and non-text frames in a video stream
Detecting the start of a credit roll within video program may allow for the automatic extension of video recordings among other functions. The start of the credit roll may be detected by determining the number of text blocks within a sequence of frames and identifying a point in the sequence of frames where a difference between the number of text blocks in frames occurring before the point and the number of text blocks in frames occurring after the point is greatest and exceeds a specified threshold. Text blocks may be identified within each frame by partitioning the frame into one or more segments and recording the segments having a pixel of a sufficiently high contrast. Contiguous segments may be merged or combined into single blocks, which may then be filtered to remove noise and false positives. Additional content may be inserted into the credit roll frames.
Decoding apparatus, decoding method, and non-transitory recording medium
When necessary process times in a reception apparatus for a determination on a change area, a determination on the color of the change area, and a decoding of bit data stream exceed a predetermined time from a frame acquiring timing, and a process delay would occur, an image generator acquires a frame. In addition, a decoder temporarily stores the frame in a memory, and thereafter at a predetermined timing performs the determination on the change area, the determination on the color of the change area, and the decoding of the bit data stream.

Methods and systems for providing file data for a media file
The present invention seeks to provide an improved file system that provides essence data for a media file in a way that does not require the contents of the entire file to be available before any file data can be provided. The present invention is reflected in a method of providing file data for a media file of a pre-determined format from a file system comprising a file record database and a data store, wherein the media file corresponds to a programme. The method comprises the steps of receiving details of the programme including the duration of the programme, and determining the layout of the media file in the pre-determined format from the received details of the programme, the layout including locations for essence data within the file. A file record for the media file is then created in the file record database. In response to a request for the location of essence data within the file, a location given by the determined layout of the media file is returned. Further, a stream of essence data corresponding to the contents of the programme is received and the received essence data is stored in the data store. In response to a request for a portion of essence data from the media file corresponding to a time period of the programme, essence data derived from the received essence data is returned according to the determined layout of the media file.
Image processing apparatus capable of movie recording, image pickup apparatus, control method therefor, and storage medium
An image processing apparatus that correctly acquires evaluation values when movie recording is performed at a fixed frame rate. A first readout unit reduces readout rows of an image pickup device, and acquires and outputs image data for movie recording from the reduced readout rows. A second readout unit acquires image data from readout rows that do not overlap with that by the first readout unit at higher rate than the first readout unit, and outputs the acquired image data simultaneously with the first readout unit. Whether a subject's state changes for both the image data acquired by the first and second readout units is determined. If it is determined that the subject's state in the image data acquired by the second readout unit is changed, a speed at which the second readout unit acquires image data is changed while the first readout unit maintains a fixed speed.
Method and apparatus for the insertion of audio cues in media files by post-production audio and video editing systems
A system and method for post-production insertion of audio cues into media files is described, comprising a media transcoder loading into memory a first media file comprising audio tracks arranged along a timeline and an identifier identifying a location on the timeline of the first media file at which an item is to be presented, generating an audio cue tag comprising an audio cue having two or more inaudible audio signals, wherein the audio cue uniquely identifies the item associated with a web page to be accessed by a mobile device, and transcoding the first media file to encode at least some of the one or more audio tracks, embed the audio cue into a first audio track of the first media file, and determining not to compress at least a portion of the first audio track comprising the audio cue while compressing other portions of the first media file.
System and method for labeling networked meetings and video clips from a main stream of video
A video recording system and method for labeling networked meetings and video/audio clips from a main stream of video/audio is disclosed and claimed. The video recording system allows a system user to selectively view and label a main video stream or video clips. A rewind control rewinds the main stream of video, and then label the selected video clip from a start pointer to an end pointer. The video recording system also allows network members to teleconference while recording a main stream of video. Any of network members can label selected sections of the teleconference in real time. Further, a recording alert control automatically displays a reminder message to a camera operator after a non-recording duration, such as 5 to 10 seconds, after the software application is opened. This feature is useful when camera operator forgets to record. A voice control feature enables voice command activation of the controls.
Media registration and authorization on a media player
The disclosed methods and systems provide for the registry and authorization of media on a media player. The method involves maintaining a registry of registered media. Media to be played by the media player is compared to the maintained registry of registered media. If media is registered, authorization it then required to play the registered media.
Displaying content between loops of a looping media item
A method for displaying content between loops of a looping media item is provided herein. The method includes receiving a request for a primary media item and determining that the requested primary media item is a looping media item. The method further includes steps of identifying, by a processing device, a secondary media item for the primary media item and of providing the primary media item and the secondary media item for presentation between loops of the primary media item.
