Echolocate spectrum analyzer

This disclosure describes techniques for capturing radio frequency (RF) signal over the air, processing spectrum power data, and uploading data to a central data repository for analysis and reporting. Captured RF signals are filtered and amplified via a front-end module of a probe that includes a filter and a low noise amplifier (LNA). Output signals can be decoded into digital TV metadata and image captures via a TV tuner and spectrum power, and then analyzed via a software defined radio (SDR). Digital TV metadata and images, as well as SDR data, can be uploaded and collected at a server. The server processes collected spectrum data from SDR into spectrum reports. The server can also analyze collected digital TV metadata to identify with increased accuracy RF sources originating from transmitting TV facilities.

Electronic device and operation method therefor

Provided is an electronic device including: a communication unit; a tuner configured to receive a channel signal of a broadcast channel by tuning to a frequency of the broadcast channel included in the broadcasting signal; and a controller configured to acquire data regarding the broadcast channel based on the channel signal and transmit the data to a server through the communication unit, the data including at least one of signal information indicating properties of the channel signal, and service information regarding the broadcast channel.

A set-top box with self-monitoring and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the set-top box, a housing secures a television input, a television output, a processor, memory, and storage therein, which are communicatively interconnected by a busing architecture. The memory is accessible to the processor, and the memory includes processor-executable instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to detect when the television is not being utilized. Responsive thereto, the instructions cause the processor to scan channels received from the television input and generate a composite TV screen image data that may be resolved to a single TV screen image made from an assemblage of TV screen image captures corresponding to the scanned channels.

Measures for image testing

A system and method for image testing is configured to apply at least one display property to a test image to generate a display modified test image and applying the at least one display property to a reference image to generate a display modified reference image. The system also applies a human eye model to the display modified test image to generate an eye modified test image and applies the human eye model to the display modified reference image to generate an eye modified reference image. The system may compare the eye modified test image with the eye modified reference image to determine human perceivable differences between the test image and the reference image.
