TESTING METHOD AND TESTING APPARATUS FOR SPLICING SCREENS

A testing method and a testing apparatus for splicing screens (1, 2, 3, 4) are provided. The method includes: outputting an image signal to a display screen, wherein the display screen includes a plurality of splicing screens (1, 2, 3, 4), the image signal includes a plurality of testing sub pictures, the testing sub pictures are arranged correspondingly to the splicing screens (1, 2, 3, 4) so as to enable the splicing screens (1, 2, 3, 4) to display the corresponding testing sub pictures, and the testing sub pictures include testing contents (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12); and testing the splicing screens (1, 2, 3, 4) through the testing contents (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12). Testing on the splicing screens (1, 2, 3, 4) is achieved, and a testing result can be used for regulating the splicing screens (1, 2, 3, 4), so that defects generated in the displaying process of the splicing screens (1, 2, 3, 4) are reduced.

DISPLAY APPARATUS

An display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention may includes a display panel on which an image is output; and a calibration device which is mounted on a rear surface of the display panel. The calibration device includes a housing, a drive motor which is disposed on an inside portion or an outside portion of the housing, a link assembly which is accommodated in the inside portion of the housing, which is capable of being withdrawn to the outside of the housing by power provided form the drive motor and which is provided to be capable of being bent or being rotated, and an photographing unit which is mounted on an end of the link assembly and photographs the image displayed on the display panel.

Programming disruption diagnostics

Various arrangements for monitoring and utilizing solar conjunction events are presented. An occurrence of a solar conjunction event caused by the sun being substantially aligned with the satellite antenna through which a television receiver receives signals from one or more satellites may be monitored. A prediction of a future solar conjunction event based on the monitored occurrence of the solar conjunction event may then be calculated. A second occurrence of the solar conjunction event may be monitored. It may be determined that the second occurrence of the solar conjunction event does not match the calculated prediction of the future solar conjunction event within a threshold range. One or more features of the television receiver may be disabled in response to determining that the second occurrence of the solar conjunction event does not match the calculated prediction of the future solar conjunction event within the threshold range.

CONTOUR GENERATION OF PROMPTED DATA SIGNAL

The testing of a received data signal accessed from a device under test. Communication circuitry first generates an instruction that causes the device under to emit the data signal towards quality parameter contour generation circuitry. The contour generation circuitry is then configured to generate quality parameter (e.g., bit error ratio) contour of the data signal, which is then received at the contour generation circuitry. The generated contour map may then be evaluated to diagnose the performance of the device under test in emitting the data signal. For instance, each device under test may be evaluated after manufacture. The quality parameter contour generation circuitry may be embedded within an electronic device, such as a consumer electronic device. A diagnostic component within the electronic device is configured to use the quality parameter contour generated by the contour generation circuitry to self-test the device.

COLOR CALIBRATION OF COLOR IMAGE RENDERING DEVICES

Color calibration of color image rendering devices, such as large color displays, which operate by either projection or emission of images, utilize internal color measurement instrument or external color measurement modules locatable on a wall or speaker. A dual use camera is provided for a portable or laptop computer, or a cellular phone, handset, personal digital assistant or other handheld device with a digital camera, in which one of the camera or a display is movable with respect to the other to enable the camera in a first mode to capture images of the display for enabling calibration of the display, and in a second mode for capturing image other than of the display. The displays may represent rendering devices for enabling virtual proofing in a network, or may be part of stand-alone systems and apparatuses for color calibration. Improved calibration is also provided for sensing and correcting for non-uniformities of rendering devices, such as color displays, printer, presses, or other color image rendering device.

Imaging systems with pixel array verification circuitry

An imaging system may include an array of image pixels and verification circuitry. The verification circuitry may inject test voltages into the image pixel array during the photodiode reset operation. The test signals may then be read out using a correlated double sampling operation. Verification circuitry may compare the test signals to reference data to determine whether the imaging system is functioning properly (e.g., to determine whether the array of image pixels satisfies performance criteria). If the amount of mismatch between the test signals and the reference data exceed a predetermined threshold, the imaging system may be disabled and/or a warning signal may be presented to a user of the system.
