A method of filtering a sample value of a picture is provided, with an integer t that is less than k and with an integer j in the range of 1 to m: generating, with an integer i in the range of 1 to k−t−1, a filtered sample value by applying a filter to the value of the sample p(i,j), wherein the filter is supported by a set of filter support samples, the set of filter support samples does not comprise any samples p(i′,j′) with row index i′ greater than k−t−1, and/or generating, with an integer i in the range of k−t to k, a filtered sample value by applying a filter to the value of the sample p(i,j), the filter is supported by a set of filter support samples, wherein the set of filter support samples does not comprise any samples p(i′,j′) with row index i′ less than k−t.
DIRECTION-BASED PREDICTION FOR INTRA BLOCK COPY IN VIDEO CODING
A method of visual media processing includes determining, for a conversion between a current video block of visual media data and a bitstream representation of the current video block, a buffer that stores reference samples for prediction in an intra block copy mode; for a sample spatially located at location of the current video block relative to an upper-left position of a coding tree unit including the current video block and having a block vector, computing a corresponding reference in the buffer at a reference location, wherein the reference location is determined using the block vector and the location; and upon determining that the reference location lies outside the buffer, re-computing the reference location based at least in part on a location of the current video block relative to the coding tree unit including the current video block.

DIRECTED INTERPOLATION AND DATA POST-PROCESSING
An encoding device evaluates a plurality of processing and/or post-processing algorithms and/or methods to be applied to a video stream, and signals a selected method, algorithm, class or category of methods/algorithms either in an encoded bitstream or as side information related to the encoded bitstream. A decoding device or post-processor utilizes the signaled algorithm or selects an algorithm/method based on the signaled method or algorithm. The selection is based, for example, on availability of the algorithm/method at the decoder/post-processor and/or cost of implementation. The video stream may comprise, for example, downsampled multiplexed stereoscopic images and the selected algorithm may include any of upconversion and/or error correction techniques that contribute to a restoration of the downsampled images.

DPB OPERATION-BASED IMAGE OR VIDEO CODING
According to the disclosure of the present document, a decoded picture buffer (DPB) may be updated on the basis of DPB-related information. The DPB-related information may include a syntax element related to a maximum required size of the DPB. In updating the DPB, a bumping process may be invoked on the basis of a case where a first condition, in which the number of pictures in the DPB is neither greater than nor equal to a value obtained by adding 1 to a value of the syntax element related to the maximum required size of the DPB, is satisfied.
