METHODS AND APPARATUS TO IDENTIFY MEDIA BASED ON WATERMARKS ACROSS DIFFERENT AUDIO STREAMS AND/OR DIFFERENT WATERMARKING TECHNIQUES

Example apparatus disclosed herein are to detect a first watermark embedded in an audio stream associated with media, the first watermark embedded and detected based on a first watermarking technique; and detect a second watermark embedded in the audio stream, the second watermark embedded and detected based on a second watermarking technique. Disclosed example apparatus are also to assign the first watermark to a first monitoring track and to a second monitoring track, the first monitoring track limited to watermarks embedded in the audio stream based on the first watermarking technique, the second monitoring track limited to watermarks embedded in the audio stream based on any of the first or second watermarking techniques; group the first and second watermarks to form a media detection event when the second watermark is assigned to the second monitoring track; and cause transmission of the media detection event to a data collection facility.

PRE-FETCHING OF INFORMATION TO FACILITATE CHANNEL SWITCHING

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, for a selected channel, a first video; processing the first video for rendering on a display being viewed by a user; selecting from among a plurality of channels a subset of channels for which to pre-fetch data, the selecting being according to predictions that each channel of the subset of channels is more likely to be requested by the user than each channel of the plurality of channels that is not part of the subset; prioritizing the subset of channels such that a first channel of the subset of channels has a priority over a second channel of the subset of channels, the first channel being given the priority based upon a prediction that the first channel is more likely to be requested by the user than the second channel; pre-fetching, for the first channel, first data of a first type and second data of a second type; and pre-fetching, for the second channel, third data of the first type without pre-fetching any data of the second type. Other embodiments are disclosed.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING MISSED PORTIONS OF MEDIA ASSETS TO INTERESTED VIEWERS

Systems and methods are described herein for efficiently “catching-up” a user that is interested in a media asset when that user has missed a portion of the media asset while consuming the media asset together with other people. The system may detect that multiple people are consuming a media asset and may determine, based on a respective profile of each person, whether that person is interested in the media asset. When the system detects that the user is disregarding the media asset, the missed portion of the media asset is stored if the user is interested in the media asset, and is not stored if the user is not interested in the media asset.

Enhanced video system

A method and system for enhancement of video systems using wireless device proximity detection. The enhanced video system consists of one or more video capture devices along with one or more sensors detecting the presence of devices with some form of wireless communications enabled. The proximity of a device communicating wirelessly is sensed and cross referenced with received video image information. Through time, movement of wirelessly communicating mobile devices through a venue or set of venues can be deduced and additionally cross referenced to and augmented over image data from the set of video capture devices.

Content-modification system with use of multiple fingerprint data types feature

In one aspect, a method includes receiving first query fingerprint data representing first content channeled through a portion of a content-distribution system. The method also includes detecting a first match between the received first query fingerprint data and first reference fingerprint data representing a modifiable content-segment. The method also includes responsive to detecting the first match, performing a first action. The method also includes receiving second query fingerprint data representing content received by a content-presentation device. The method also includes detecting a second match between the received second query fingerprint data and second reference fingerprint data representing second content transmitted by the content-distribution system, where the second content is a modified version of the first content. The method also includes responsive to detecting the second match, performing a second action that is different from the first action.

Content processing workflow that alters objectionable content segments to enhance customer viewing experience

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining media content, providing it as input to a neural network adapted to categorize scenes according to predetermined categories, and generating metadata according to the categorization. An objectionable scene is identified based on a user preference and according to a characterization. An altered scene based on a content of the objectionable scene may be obtained responsive to the identifying of the objectionable scene. The altered scene provides a suitable scene in place of the objectional scene that preserves information of the content to obtain preserved information. Replacement of the objectionable scene with the altered scene may be facilitated to obtain adapted media content, wherein presentation of the adapted media content via equipment avoids presentation of the objectionable scene, while maintaining a continuity of the original media content via the preserved information. Other embodiments are disclosed.
