Other portions of the manual arm-moving structure enabling the elliptical movement perform a near-elliptical movement under the collective action of systems related to the full-cycle movement or the bidirectional reciprocating movement. An arm of a user is also moved in a near-elliptical trajectory by means of a corresponding handle structure directly or indirectly provided on the manual arm-moving structure enabling the elliptical movement.

The exercise machine has a frame; first and second pedal members; first and second foot pads on the first and second pedal members, respectively, each of the first and second foot pads being movable along an elliptical path during said striding exercise motion; and first and second rocker arms each having a first end that is pivotable with respect to the frame about a rocker arm pivot axis and further having a second end that is pivotable with respect to one of the first and second pedal members about a pedal lever hub axis. The frame has first and second frame portions. The first frame portion supports the first and second rocker arms and is pivotable about a frame pivot axis relative to the second frame portion. Pivoting the first frame portion relative to the second frame portion adjusts a position of the rocker arm pivot axis, which thereby changes a shape of the elliptical path.

A modular exercise apparatus comprising a frame, a common drivetrain supported by the frame and including a common axle, a plurality of input receivers coupled to the common axle, and a resistance member operably coupled to the common axle and operable to provide resistance against rotation of the common axle, a first exercise attachment including a first drive member operably coupled to a first input receiver of the plurality of input receivers of the common drivetrain, and a second exercise attachment including a second drive member operably coupled to a second input receiver of the plurality of input receivers of the common drivetrain.
