IMAGING DEVICE, IMAGING SYSTEM, VEHICLE RUNNING CONTROL SYSTEM, AND IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE

An imaging device including a first filter that passes a first light and a second light; a second filter that blocks the second light; photoelectric converters that have sensitivity to the first light and the second light; and a processor, in which one of the photoelectric converters detects a light passing through the first filter to generate a first signal, one of the photoelectric converters detects a light passing through the first filter and the second filter to generate a second signal, and the processor performs the second light sensing based on the first signal and the second signal.

METHOD FOR HARMONIZING IMAGES ACQUIRED FROM NON OVERLAPPING CAMERA VIEWS

An image processing method for harmonizing images acquired by a first camera and a second camera connected to a vehicle and arranged in such a way as their fields of view cover a same road space at different times as the vehicle travels along a travel direction is disclosed. The method includes: acquiring by a selected camera, a first image at a first time; selecting a first region of interest bounding a road portion from the first image; sampling the first region of interest; acquiring by the other camera, a second image in such a way that the road portion is included in a second region of interest; sampling the second region of interest; and determining one or more correction parameters for harmonizing images acquired by the first and second cameras, based on a comparison between the image content of the first and second regions of interest.

Tone mapping for image capture may include accessing a first image detected using an image sensor; accessing an exposure parameter (exposure duration, or time, multiplied by ISO or gain) used to detect the first image; scaling pixel values of the first image by a scale factor inversely proportional to the exposure parameter to obtain a scaled image; determining a scene luminance based on an average of pixel values of the scaled image; determining a target luminance based on the scene luminance; determining a target histogram based on the target luminance; determining a first histogram of luminance values of the first image; determining a transfer function based on the first histogram and the target histogram; applying the transfer function to pixel values of the first image to produce a tone mapped image; and storing or transmitting an output image based on the tone mapped image.

Systems and methods to optimize imaging settings for a machine vision job

Methods and systems for optimizing one or more imaging settings for a machine vision job are disclosed herein. An example method includes detecting, by one or more processors, an initiation trigger that initiates the machine vision job. The example method further includes, responsive to detecting the initiation trigger, capturing, by an imaging device, a first image of a target object in accordance with a first configuration of the one or more imaging settings. The example method further includes, responsive to capturing the first image of the target object, automatically adjusting, by the one or more processors, the one or more imaging settings to a second configuration that includes at least one different imaging setting from the first configuration; and capturing, by the imaging device, a second image of the target object in accordance with the second configuration of the one or more imaging settings.

Imaging device and camera system

A camera system includes: a photoelectric converter including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a photoelectric conversion layer between the first electrode and the second electrode, the photoelectric conversion layer converting incident light into electric charge; voltage application circuitry; and a controller that derives a duty cycle corresponding to an attenuation ratio set for a first frame and that causes the voltage application circuitry to apply a pulse voltage having the duty cycle between the first electrode and the second electrode in the first frame.
