A method for transmitting an image and an electronic device thereof are provided. An image transmission method of an electronic device includes displaying a message transmission/reception history with at least one other electronic device, sensing a selection of a camera execution menu, displaying a preview screen of a camera within a screen in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed, detecting a touch on the displayed preview screen, if the displayed preview screen is touched, capturing an image of a subject, detecting a gesture for the captured image, and, if the gesture for the captured image is detected, transmitting the captured image to the at least one other electronic device according to the detected gesture.

The embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method and an apparatus a device, and a medium for posting a video or image. In one exemplary method, present a capturing interface comprising a capturing user interface element. In response to detecting activation of the capturing user interface element in the capturing interface, generate a captured video or image and displaying an editing interface for editing the captured video or image, the editing interface comprising a posting user interface element for posting the captured video or image. In response to detecting activation of the posting user interface element, post the captured video or image. The user may quickly post a captured video by means of a story or a quick post function, being beneficial to increasing the positivity of the user to participate in the creation of short video and increasing user stickiness.

A data processing apparatus is configured to receive a selection of a first function and search for one or more devices which has the capability to perform that first function. The apparatus may then receive a selection of the one or more devices for performing that first function and, in conjunction, determine whether the selected device has the capability to execute a second function. The device identification data may be stored. Subsequently, if the selected device is determined to be capable of executing the second function, which is different from the first function selected, and the second function is further selected, the previously selected device may be displayed as having the capability to execute the selected second function. Otherwise, the apparatus does not display the previously selected device as being able to execute the selected second function.

The device identification data may be stored. The communication device includes a communication subsystem that receives a photographic image stream from a second communication device. The communication device includes a display driver that presents content on a display device. A controller of the communication device is communicatively coupled to the display driver. The controller simultaneously presents the more than one camera previews on the display device. The communication device presents a particular imaging mode of the photographic image stream corresponding to the particular camera preview that is user selected. The communication device transmits, via the communication subsystem to the second communication device, a report of a user selection by the at least one user input device, of the particular imaging mode of the photographic visual stream that is being presented on the display device.
