INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD THEREOF, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus comprises: a communication unit which performs short-range wireless communication with an external apparatus configured to provide a predetermined function; a first determination unit which determines, based on information obtained from the external apparatus by the communication unit, whether to perform authentication processing in order to utilize the predetermined function of the external apparatus; and an authentication unit which performs the authentication processing if the first determination unit determines to perform the authentication processing.
Wireless location tracking tag for monitoring real time location-tracking apparatus for an electronic device
A system for tracking the location of an electronic device includes an electronic device and a wireless location tag. The wireless location tag includes a microcontroller unit, and a modular connector interface configured to be communicatively coupled to a port of the electronic device. The wireless location tag is configured to establish an Internet connection to one or more backend electronic devices in response to detecting that the wireless location tag has been communicatively coupled to the port of the electronic device, obtain identifying information that is associated with the electronic device, and identify tag identifying information associated with the wireless location tag. The wireless location tag is also configured to send one or more instructions to the one or more backend electronic devices via the Internet connection, and send one or more ping messages to the one or more backend electronic devices.
Mobile terminal capable of setting cover sheet and header of fax, image forming apparatus, methods of controlling mobile terminal and image forming apparatus, communication system, and storage medium
A mobile terminal capable of setting a cover sheet and a header of a fax document and causing an image forming apparatus to transmit the fax document. Cover data representative of a cover sheet is created according to the settings of a cover sheet of a fax document, and header data representative of a header is created according to the settings of a header of the fax document. Upon receipt of an instruction for transmitting a fax document from the user, the mobile terminal transmits an instruction to the image forming apparatus for reading an original and transmitting the fax document, together with transmission destination information indicative of a transmission destination to which the fax document is to be transmitted and at least one of the cover data and the header data.
COORDINATED DISPLAY OF MESSAGES
An example is directed to a computing device having non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a set of instructions executable by a processor to cause the computing device to receive, from a server in communication with the computing device and an appliance, data indicative of a message that is specific to the appliance and associated with an operational state of the appliance. The instructions are further executed by the processor to provide the message on a display of the computing device as coordinated with a visual indication on the appliance associated with the operational state of the appliance using the received data.
CONTROL DEVICE, IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM, INFORMATION PROCESSING CONTROL SYSTEM, AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD
A control device includes: a wireless communication section that operates while being continuously supplied with power; and a detection section that detects approach of a user. The control device further includes: an authentication processing section that authenticates a user of a terminal in response to reception of a request from the terminal by the wireless communication section when supply of power to a processing section of an information processing apparatus is stopped; and a control section that starts supplying power to the processing section when the approach of the user of the terminal is detected by the detection section after the authentication succeeds.
RESPONSE DELAY TIME DETERMINATION TO MAINTAIN LONG POLLING CONNECTION
An image forming apparatus and method for determining a response delay time for maintaining a long polling connection are provided. In an example, the image forming apparatus includes a communication device to communicate with an external device, a processor, and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor. The processor may execute the instructions to request the external device for a response about whether a job to be performed by the image forming apparatus is present based on a response delay time for long polling the external device by the image forming apparatus. The processor may also execute the instructions to detect an error from the response, adjust the response delay time, and determine a final response delay time for maintaining connection of the long polling by re-adjusting the adjusted response delay time based on a result of performing the long polling based on the adjusted response delay time.
Mobile terminal capable of instructing transmission of fax, image forming apparatus, methods of controlling mobile terminal and image forming apparatus, communication system, and storage medium
A mobile terminal improved in operability concerning fax transmission. A CPU of the mobile terminal sets information indicative of a fax transmission destination, sets reading and transmission information concerning fax transmission and original reading, and sends a request for fax transmission, to an image forming apparatus. When a response notifying capability of fax transmission is received from the apparatus, the CPU causes a message for prompting a user to set an original, to be displayed on a display section. When the original has been set and an instruction for fax transmission from the user is received, the CPU sends an instruction for reading the original and executing fax transmission, together with the transmission destination information, and the reading and transmission information, to the apparatus. The CPU causes a result of fax transmission by the apparatus to be displayed on the display section.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, SYSTEM, METHOD FOR INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
There is provided a method for an information processing apparatus configured to communicate with an image processing apparatus. The method includes displaying a screen of an application, wherein the screen corresponds to a screen displayed on a display unit of the image processing apparatus and is subjected to display control by the image processing apparatus, and transmitting an instruction to stop the display control to the image processing apparatus if a predetermined condition is satisfied in a state where the application is no longer operating as a user's operation target on the information processing apparatus.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
There has been such an issue that, when an operation for stopping a Virtual Network Computing (VNC) connection is received from a user on a mobile terminal in a state where the VNC connection is established between the mobile terminal and a multifunction peripheral (MFP) and the user is logged in to the MFP, a screen in a state where the user is logged in is continued to be displayed on the MFP. One aspect of the present disclosure allows processing for logging the user out of the MFP to be automatically performed when processing for disconnecting the VNC connection is received.
Communication apparatus using an advertising signal, method of controlling the same, and storage medium
An apparatus that executes a job, broadcasts a wireless signal prior to establishing a connection by wireless communication with an external apparatus. The wireless signal includes information relating to the apparatus, by which it can be identified whether execution of a job by the apparatus is possible, in a predetermined packet.
