The exposure device includes a light emitting element to form an electrostatic latent image, based on which the image forming device forms the pattern. Based on first and second correction values, the circuitry calculates a third correction value to correct a light amount of the light emitting element. The exposure device includes a driving device that drives the light emitting element based on the third correction value. The circuitry sets at least two or more determination areas in each of a white area and a pattern area of the medium, and determines whether the medium has a rise based on density data in the determination areas.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit configured to form a reference image, and a plurality of test images; a conveying unit configured to convey the sheet; a reading unit configured to read the sheet, and output read data, the reading unit including a plurality of light-receiving elements disposed along a direction orthogonal to a conveyance direction of the sheet; and a controller configured to: determine a direction in which the plurality of test images are disposed based on read data related to the reference image; determine test image read data related to test image regions corresponding to each of the plurality of test images from the read data based on the direction; and control a density of an image to be formed by the image forming unit based on the test image read data.

An image forming apparatus includes a communication portion arranged inside a cover covering an image forming portion in the main body of the apparatus and including an antenna surface for use in establishing near field communication. The cover includes a stacking portion in its upper section. The stacking portion is configured to receive a recording medium with an image thereon, the recording medium being discharged outside the main body of the apparatus. A supporting program according to aspects of the present disclosures can be executed by a CPU of a PC and corresponds to a printer connected to the PC. When the PC receives a print instruction to cause the printer to perform printing through a general-use printing program implemented in the OS of the PC, in advance, the supporting program causes the PC to output a preceding operation command to cause the printer to perform a preceding operation before starting printing. The printer performs a preceding operation corresponding to the preceding operation command.

A point-of-sale (POS) device includes a processor, a battery, a transaction object reader, a printer with a printer controller, and optionally a temperature sensor. The processor determines a present power discharge capability rate of the battery, optionally based on a temperature measured by the temperature sensor. The processor also calculates a first estimated power draw rate based on a first setting value for at least one of the components of the POS device, such as the printer. If the first estimated power draw rate is dangerously close to the present power discharge capability rate of the battery, a second estimated power draw rate is calculated based on a second setting value for the one or more components. If the second estimated power draw rate is no longer dangerously close to the present power discharge capability rate of the battery, the components are set to the second settings value.

According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a cloud printing system is connected to an information processing apparatus via a network, and the cloud printing system comprises: one or more memories storing a set of instructions; and one or more processors that execute the set of instructions to: receive a print job from the information processing apparatus; and if there is a plurality of users permitted to execute the received print job, transmit the received print job to another cloud printing system using authentication information of each of the plurality of users.

A server of a printing system includes a print instruction acquisition unit configured to acquire a print instruction indicated by a voice that is a print instruction of a content included in a content group from a voice intermediation device, a selection unit configured to select a content to be printed from the content group according to the print instruction, and a transmitter configured to transmit print data for printing the selected content to the printing device. The selection unit totalizes a printing count of each content included in the content group for a plurality of users, and selects the content to be printed from the content group based on the totalized printing count. The selection unit may select the content to be printed from the content group based on an attribute applicable to a user. A digital camera with a printer is a digital camera with a printer and includes a communication unit that communicates with a digital camera with a printer that is another apparatus, and an image composition unit that generates a composite image in which a first image captured by the digital camera with a printer that is an owned apparatus and a second image captured by the other apparatus are composited, in which the communication unit transmits the composite image to the other apparatus. A user of the other apparatus can also obtain the composite image. Accordingly, the composite image can be enjoyed by capturing images using a plurality of cameras.
