PRINTING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PRINTER
20170302804 · 2017-10-19 ·

A control unit causes a carriage to move in a width direction under a first movement control of changing a location of the carriage with a first resolution so that a sensor located forward in movement detects an edge of a medium. Thereafter, the first movement control is switched to a second movement control of changing the location of the carriage with a second resolution higher than the first resolution and the carriage is caused to move in the width direction so that a sensor located rearward in movement detects the edge.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD OF INFORMATION PROCESSING, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

An information processing apparatus to connect with a printer and a display, includes: a processor to control the printer to print one or more images that are obtained to output one or more printed images, in response to a print request received from a first user; and control the display to display the one or more images that have been printed with the printer, the images being displayed to one or more users other than the first user.

Address book transfer over a network between printers

A networked printer system includes a first printer coupled to a network. The first printer includes a first printer address book having a plurality of address book contents that are located in a plurality of Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Object Identifiers (OIDs). A second printer is coupled to the network. The second printer includes a processor, a communications device coupled to the processor, and a computer-readable medium coupled to the processor. An address book transferring engine is located on the computer-readable medium and includes computer-readable instruction that when executed connect to the first printer through the communications device over the network using SNMP, retrieve the plurality of address book contents from the plurality of SNMP OIDs, and transfer the plurality of address book contents to a second printer address book that is associated with the second printer.

Human input to relate separate scanned objects

A method for managing a hardcopy document (HD). The method includes: obtaining an image of the HD; identifying, within the image, a plurality of linking labels and a plurality of regions corresponding to the plurality of linking labels; extracting a plurality of strings from the plurality of regions; generating a combined string by combining the plurality of strings based on the plurality of linking labels; and generating an editable electronic version of the HD specifying the combined string.

IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND PROGRAM
20170295293 · 2017-10-12 ·

An image forming system includes: an image forming apparatus including an image forming unit for forming an image on a sheet, an image reading unit for reading a sheet surface and generating a scan image, an image inspection unit for detecting abnormalities within the scan image, and a history generating unit for generating detection information of each of the abnormalities and generating a history image by embedding the detection information in the scan image; a storage device for storing the history image; and a user terminal for displaying an abnormality detection result and inputting a user's evaluation of the abnormality detection result, wherein the image forming apparatus further includes a parameter setting unit for finally determining the abnormalities depending on the user's evaluation, and determining and setting abnormality detection parameters such that the abnormalities finally determined are detected, and the abnormalities not finally determined are not detected.

Image forming apparatus, display control method, and storage medium for displaying an image
09787864 · 2017-10-10 · ·

An image forming apparatus having a touch panel and capable of smoothly displaying an image even though the image forming apparatus has scarce hardware resources. The image forming apparatus includes an operation unit provided with a touch panel configured to display a screen sequentially shifted by an operation of a user, determines a type of operations such as a flick and a drag executed on the touch panel by the user, and displays a screen on the touch panel by shifting the screen by N-screens (N is an integer of two or more) if the operation is the flick while displaying a screen on the touch panel by shifting the screen by one screen if the operation is the drag.

Image processing apparatus with sharpness determination, information processing apparatus, and methods therefor

Determination information is obtained to determine a degradation characteristic of sharpness of an image formed by an image forming apparatus. One of a plurality of recovery processing parameters used to recover sharpness of an image is selected based on the determination information, and characteristics of the plurality of recovery processing parameters are different from each other. Recovery processing of sharpness is performed on image data using the selected recovery processing parameter. When the degradation characteristics of sharpness are visually and substantially the same, the same recovery processing parameter is selected.

Network system and control method of a network system

In a system in which a server and a client to which a device is connected communicate, the server can execute processes based on the result of checking device operation. The POS terminal of a network system has a device control function for controlling the device, and a diagnostic function for checking operation of the device. To check the operation of the device connected to the client, a maintenance server sends a control command instructing starting the diagnostic function to the POS terminal. The POS terminal stops the device control function if the device control function is executing, starts the diagnostic function, checks operation of the device with the diagnostic function, and returns the result of the checked operation to the maintenance server.

Non-transitory computer-readable medium

A non-transitory computer-readable medium stores computer-readable instructions. The instructions, when executed by a processor of an image processing apparatus, perform processes. The processes include registering, in a storage, a candidate color for each of a plurality of divided areas included in image data indicating an image on a sheet. The processes further include identifying, from among a plurality of pixels included in the image data, a target pixel based on a color value of the target pixel. The processes further include replacing the color value of the identified target pixel with a target color when a condition based on the color value of the identified target pixel and a color value of the target color is satisfied.

Color data may be collected from a plurality of sources. A plurality of color map selection fields may be indexed at a table to a plurality of color maps. The plurality of color maps may be based on the collected color data. Each entry of the table may include an identifier to match one of the plurality of color maps to at least one permutation of the color map selection fields.
