FLEXIBLE BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION DURING RESTORATION IN OPTICAL NETWORKS
Systems and methods of flexible behavior modification of a service implemented in a node during restoration in an optical network include provisioning the service on a home route with a first set of attributes; defining one or more protect routes in the network for the service, wherein each of the one or more protect routes have a corresponding set of attributes which differs from the first set of attributes; and, responsive to restoration of the service, determining a protect route of the one or more protect routes to restore the service and changing the service to have the corresponding set of attributes while on the protect route.
DATA IN MOTION STORAGE SYSTEM AND METHOD
A data storage system is disclosed that includes a recirculating loop storing data in motion. The data may be carried by a signal via the loop including one or more satellites or other vessels that return, for example by reflection or regeneration, the signals through the loop. The loop may also include a waveguide, for example an optical fiber, or an optical cavity. Signal multiplexing may be used to increase the contained data. The signal may be amplified at each roundtrip and sometimes a portion of the signal may be regenerated.
Method and apparatus for data packet switching, access switch and switching system
The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for data packet switching, and an access switch and a switching system, so as to satisfy requirements of a datacenter for a switching bandwidth and a switching granularity. The method includes: receiving MAC frame control information; determining an interface used for forwarding an MAC frame according to the MAC frame control information and through performing a query on a MAC address forwarding table, where the interface used for forwarding the MAC frame includes a downlink interface, an uplink electrical packet switching network interface and/or an uplink optical packet switching network interface; transmitting a control signal to an electrical packet switching unit, so that the MAC frame is forwarded to the determined interface. According to the method provided in the present invention, the utilization rate of each interface can be improved.
Grooming method and device for packet optical transport network
A grooming method and apparatus for a packet optical transport network are disclosed. The method includes: according to an arrangement order of various services, planning a path from a service source node to a service target node in an ith service in a topology set graph; when the path includes a wavelength link in a physical link, removing the wavelength link, and establishing a virtual link between a link source node and a link target node of the removed wavelength link; updating capacities of various links in the path; calculating a weight of a newly established virtual link, and adding the newly established virtual link and the corresponding weight to the topology set graph; and planning a path from a service source node to a service target node in an i+1th service in the topology set graph, until all services are finished.
Skew Calculation in Channel-Bonded Passive Optical Networks (PONs)
An apparatus comprises: a first clock; a receiver configured to: receive a first packet via a first channel corresponding to a first wavelength, and receive a third packet via a third channel corresponding to a third wavelength; and a processor coupled to the receiver and configured to: implement channel bonding using the first channel and the third channel, synchronize the first clock based on the first packet, and calculate a channel skew between the first channel and the third channel based on the first clock.
SYSTEM, METHOD, AND APPARATUS FOR SUBSEA OPTICAL TO ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION
The present invention provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for subsea optical to electrical distribution. The present invention comprises one or more routing units adapted to convert optical signals to electrical signals and route the converted electrical signals to an appropriate end device. The routing unit is a compact device that may be installed without the use of heavy equipment.
Multi-flow optical transceiver, multi-flow optical transponder and multi-flow optical node
There is provided a multi-flow optical transceiver that includes (a) a plurality of wavelength-tunable light sources, (b) a plurality of optical modulation units which modulates light with an input signal, (c) an optical multiplexing/demultiplexing switch which couples light from at least one of the wavelength-tunable light sources to at least one of the optical modulation units with any power, (d) an optical coupling unit which couples a plurality of lights, modulated by a plurality of the optical modulation units, to at least one waveguide, (e) at least one multiple carrier generating unit which generates multiple carries, arranged at equal frequency intervals, from light of the wavelength-tunable light source, and (f) a wavelength separation unit which branches the multiple carriers from the multiple carrier generating unit for each wavelength.
SERVICE DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD, RELATED DEVICE, AND DIGITAL PROCESSING CHIP
A service data transmission method, a related device, and a digital processing chip, to reduce a transmission latency of service data. The method in the embodiments includes the following steps: a first device encapsulates a channel frame in a transmission frame, where the channel frame is used to carry service data. Next, the first device sends the transmission frame to a second device. A transmission manner of the channel frame is a non-decapsulation manner between an optical transport network and an access network.
Scalable OSPF configuration for managing optical networks
Systems and methods include receiving Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) packets from a plurality of OSPF areas; sending self-generated OSPF packets to the plurality of OSPF areas; and filtering of the received OSPF packets such that received Link State Advertisement (LSA) packets from an OSPF area (are not forwarded to other OSPF areas. In an embodiment, the systems and methods can be used for a scalable OSPF deployment for management of a network, such as an optical network.
OPTICAL SWITCHING AND ELECTRICAL POWERING ARCHITECTURE FOR UNDERSEA MESH NETWORKING
