Adjustable strap apparatus and method for use
Embodiments of the present invention provide an adjustable strap apparatus and methods of instructing a patient to perform an exercise using the adjustable strap apparatus. An apparatus according to embodiments of the present invention includes a strap, a plurality of hook patches and a plurality of loop patches joined thereto. A hook patch and a loop patch of the present invention are removably engageable to form pull loops from ends of the apparatus and to form a pull belt between the pull loops. A therapist may instruct a patient to perform a mobilization exercise or a stretching exercise by forming pull loops about extremities of the patient and pulling on the apparatus without grasping to exert a stabilization force or resistance force upon a part of the body of the patient.
Weight device for a physical fitness routine
A versatile weight device for physical fitness routines is disclosed which comprises a plate having a generally H-shaped body having a first leg having an end having a hand grip portion, a second leg having an end having a hand grip portion, a third leg having an end having a hand grip portion, a fourth leg having an end having a hand grip portion, a first handle spanning between the first leg and the fourth leg, a second handle spanning between the second leg and the third leg, a central bore, a first cutout section formed between the first leg, the first handle, and the fourth leg, a second cutout section formed between the first leg and the second leg, a third cutout section formed between the second leg, the second handle, and the third leg, and a fourth cutout section formed between the third leg and the fourth leg.
Exercise apparatus with a slidable platform for resistance exercises
An exercise including a horizontal rail having a proximal end and a distal end. The rail is supported at a height by two or more vertical supports at the proximal end and distal end. A fixed member is positioned at the proximal end of the rail and have a pair of handles and a pair of arm support, wherein the positions of the pair of handles correspond to the positions of the two arm supports. The exercise apparatus includes a slide member slidably mounted to the rail and slide between the distal end and the fixed member. A user can kneel on the slide member while gripping the two handles and having the arms supported by the two arm supports. Once in position, the user can pull the slider member towards the fixed member against the resistance of a resistance mechanism.
Rotational and Linear Resistance Force Exercise Apparatus
An exercise apparatus with an adjustable rotating element around which a force transferring material wraps either clockwise or counterclockwise to provide bidirectional rotational resistance for exercising. The force transferring material is preferably guided to remain in close proximity to the rotating element while wrapping around the rotating element.
Devices and method for increasing running performance
A running device and method of using the device are disclosed. The device may include a moveable material within an inner chamber of the running device's housing. In operation, a running device may be held in each hand and the runner may thrust both hands downward prior to landing and quickly bring the devices to a vertical stop after landing. Bringing the devices to a vertical stop may cause the moveable material to collide with the housing and increase the force exerted by the runner on the ground. A delay component may delay the peak force exerted by the material against the housing so that the translation of that force to the ground coincides with the peak force that the runner would have exerted against the ground in the absence of the devices.
Multi-functional exercise station and anchor system
The present invention is directed to a system and method for attaching exercise modalities such as elastic tubular resistance bands, elastic flat resistance loops, non-elastic suspension-type exercise systems in a plurality of different positions and orientations as well as other exercise, rehabilitation and stretching components that either require or benefit from a stationary anchor unit.
TRAINING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CORRECTING FORCE
Provided is a training device that suppresses unintended operation of an operation rod when executing an operation mode in which the operation of the operation rod is controlled based on a force applied to the operation rod. The training device includes the operation rod, a motor, a force detection unit, a rotation information output sensor, a first command calculation unit, and a force correction unit. The operation rod moves a limb. The motor operates the operation rod in a direction of degree of freedom. The force detection unit detects a force component and outputs a force component signal. The rotation information output sensor detects an operation position of the operation rod in a corresponding direction of degree of freedom. The force correction unit calculates a corrected force component value based on the operation positions of the operation rod and the force component signal. The first command calculation unit calculates a first motor control command based on the corrected force component value.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND APPARATUSES FOR RECIPROCAL MUSCLE ACTIVATION AND RELEASE
In various embodiments, an apparatus for exercising can include a housing, a first inner tube, a second inner tube, and a compression spring operable to resist motion when compressed. The first inner tube is coupled with a first end of the compression spring and the second inner tube is coupled with a second end of the compression spring. In addition, the apparatus can also include an extension spring inside the housing. Furthermore, a portion of the compression spring and a portion of each of the first and second inner tubes are inside the housing. Note that a first end of the extension spring is coupled with a first handle or loop and the second end of the extension spring is coupled with a second handle or loop. The extension spring is operable to provide resistance during pulling motion away from center of the apparatus.
Exercise machine support system
An exercise machine support system for providing increased versatility including inclination or declination of an exercise surface, a reduction in the overall length and width of the exercise machine, and an enhanced user interface which reduces the risk of injury. The exercise machine support system generally includes a cantilevered exercise machine which is adapted to have a variable angle of incline or decline with respect to a horizontal ground surface. The exercise machine will generally include a base and a support which extends between the base and the exercise machine. The upper end of the support is connected to the exercise machine by a first pivot such that the exercise machine pivots about the support. An adjustment device may be utilized to pivot the exercise machine and thus adjust its angle of incline. Various types of adjustment devices are disclosed, including an actuator, ratchet-and-pawl, gears, and cam.
Fitness Device And Exercise Method For Generating Opposing Muscle Resistance
A fitness device contains a strap, a handle, and a plate. The strap is substantially inelastic and flexible. The plate is substantially rigid. The handle at least partially envelopes the strap. A method of exercising with such a fitness device is also described herein. Other fitness devices and other methods of use are also described herein.
