Programming of cochlear implant accessories
Pairing systems for pairing external devices to a cochlear implant system can comprise an external housing and an external pairing system. The external housing may comprise a first surface and one or more compartments, each configured to house an external device capable of wirelessly interfacing with an implantable cochlear implant system. The external pairing device may comprise a second surface and one or more corresponding near field communication devices. The near field communication devices may be arranged such that the first surface of the external housing can be aligned with the second surface of the external pairing device in such a way that each of the near field communication devices aligns with a corresponding compartment of the external housing. The external pairing device can provide communication between a programming device and external devices contained within compartments of the external housing via one or more corresponding near field communication devices.

A hearing device is provided. The hearing device comprises a first portion configured to be arranged at a head of a user and to provide a signal to a second portion.
IN-EAR WIRELESS DEVICE
An in-ear listening device having a device housing including a speaker housing and an elongated tube protruding away from the speaker housing, an audio port formed through the speaker housing, a speaker disposed in the speaker housing and aligned to emit sound through the audio port, a microphone port formed through the elongated tube, a microphone disposed in the elongated tube and operatively coupled to receive sound through the microphone port, a rechargeable battery and a wireless antenna disposed within the device housing, wireless circuitry coupled to the wireless antenna and configured to input and output radio frequency signals for wireless communications, a user-interface touch control disposed on the device housing and operable to control a function of the earbud, and battery charging circuitry coupled to the rechargeable battery and positioned within the device housing and operable to charge the rechargeable battery when coupled to receive power from an external power source.
Method of controlling access to hearing instrument services
There is provided a method of controlling access of a client to a service of a hearing instrument, the method comprising the steps of: requesting access of the client to the service of the hearing instrument by providing a client authenticator to the hearing instrument; authenticating the client based on a validation of the provided client authenticator by the hearing instrument; upon successful authentication, comparing a security level associated with the service requested by the client with a highest security level assigned to the client by the hearing instrument, wherein the security level is selected from a plurality of hierarchically structured security levels, and granting access of the client to the service of the hearing instrument, if the requested security level is below or equal to the highest security level assigned to the client.
HEARING DEVICE COMPRISING A CONNECTOR AND A LOCKING ELEMENT
The disclosure relates to a hearing device comprising: —a behind-the-ear housing, where the housing comprises a bottom part, a top part opposite the bottom part, a front part, and a rear part opposite the front part, —a connector, the connector is configured to be removably attached to the housing, where the connector is configured for connecting the housing to an element, the element is being configured to be arranged in or at the ear of the user, wherein the housing comprises a locking element, where the locking element is configured for locking the connector to/in the housing, and wherein the housing comprises a guide for at least a part of the connector.
Cochlear implant systems and methods employing a microphone near the ear with an off-the-ear sound processor
An exemplary cochlear implant system for use by a recipient includes a microphone assembly and an off-the-ear (OTE) sound processor communicatively coupled with the microphone assembly. The microphone assembly includes a microphone configured to capture an audio signal representative of sound presented to the recipient, and a retention device configured to hold the microphone in place near an entrance to an ear canal of an ear of the recipient. The OTE sound processor includes a housing configured to be worn on a head of the recipient at a location that is off the ear of the recipient, and electronic circuitry included within the housing. The electronic circuitry is configured to generate stimulation parameters that, when transmitted to a cochlear implant implanted within the recipient, direct the cochlear implant to apply electrical stimulation representative of the captured audio signal to the recipient. Corresponding systems and methods are also disclosed.
Hearing device including a sensor and a method of forming same
Various embodiments of a hearing device and a method of forming such device are disclosed. The device includes a housing adapted to be worn on or behind an ear of a wearer and includes a housing body and a top plate connected to the housing body. The hearing device further includes a sensor disposed on at least one of a first side surface and a second side surface of the housing body. The sensor is adapted to be in contact with either a pinna or a skull of the wearer. The sensor is further adapted to detect a physiological characteristic of the wearer and generate a sensor signal based on the physiological characteristic.
Cable for a hearing device
A cable for a hearing device is provided. The hearing device may have an in-the-canal part with a receiver and a behind-the-ear part with an electronic module. The cable may be adapted to connect the in-the-canal part and the behind-the-ear part. The cable may be a flexible printed circuit board having a plurality of conductor tracks. An end of the flexible printed circuit board is populated with at least one of a sensor, an LED and a push button.
SPEAKER ASSEMBLY FOR HEARING AID
There is provided a hearing aid with a Receiver In The Ear speaker assembly comprising a connecting member with electric conductors connecting a connector at one end, and a receiver housing with a receiver at the opposite end. A microphone housing with a microphone is attached to the connecting member. Placed along the connecting member, the microphone housing with the microphone is separated by a distance from the receiver in the receiver housing, thus reducing acoustic or mechanical feedback problems. Especially, the microphone and connector may share one common housing.
Automated scanning for hearing aid parameters
A hearing aid system is provided that facilitates adjustment of signal processing parameters θ of the hearing aid system with minimum user intervention, wherein the hearing aid system is capable of calculating signal processing parameters θ for evaluation of the user when the user has entered an input, e.g. using a smartwatch, to this effect. The evaluation takes place for a certain time period and in the event that the user has entered a consent input indicating that he or she is pleased with the set θ of signal processing parameters under evaluation, the hearing aid system continues processing with those signal processing parameters; and if the user is not pleased with the signal processing parameters θ under evaluation, the hearing aid system calculates another set {circumflex over (θ)} of signal processing parameters for evaluation of the user.
