A strap clamp style speaker bracket with a fastener base that can be used for straps of many different sizes. The invention also includes the previously mentioned speaker bracket with a similarly shaped fastener base with a dual pivoting linkage to a second strap clamp style speaker bracket for a unique cylindrical speaker. The clamp base has semi-cylindrical grooves on opposing sides and the strap ends have conformal semi-cylindrical protrusions that fit in the grooves. A bolt through the protrusions and grooves and the clamp block secures the clamp. A cylindrical speaker is illustrated. Another embodiment has legs extending from the clamp block to receive a pivot block which provides a dual articulatible speaker support.

Asymmetrical high-frequency waveguide, 3-axis rigging, and spherical enclosure for surround speakers

Embodiments are described for a high-frequency waveguide that improves the performance of large-scale surround sound and immersive audio environments. A horn waveguide is configured to be asymmetric about one of a vertical axis and horizontal axis of the waveguide to form an asymmetric horn waveguide. A spherical enclosure surrounds the asymmetric horn waveguide to form a horn speaker, and a three-axis mounting system is configured to fix the horn speaker to one of a wall or ceiling surface of the venue, wherein the mounting system facilitates rotating the horn speaker to a location that provides maximum coverage of the venue within the passband of the asymmetric horn waveguide.

Voice-activated electronic device assembly with separable base

A voice-activated electronic device including a first portion with a first internal surface having a first attachment structure, and a second portion with a second internal surface having a second attachment structure. The first and second internal surfaces have compatible shapes that permit the first and second portions to be moved from a separated position to a joined position, where when the first portion and the second portion are in the joined position the first and second internal surfaces form a nested arrangement. The first and second attachment structures form a secure but separable connection to one another when the first and second portions are in the joined position. The first and second portions are configured to be joined securely and separated through manual human manipulation of one or both of the first portion and the second portion to move the first and second portions between separated and joined positions.

Acoustic Output Through Headrest Wings

The technology described in this document can be embodied in a headrest of a seat, the headrest including an enclosure for housing one or more acoustic transducers, and an adjustable headrest wing disposed in front of the enclosure. The headrest wing is coupled to the enclosure by a pivot, and configured to be adjusted to one of multiple positions within an angle range around the pivot. The headrest wing is also configured to support the head of a seat-occupant. The headrest further includes a connector disposed between the enclosure and a rear portion of the headrest wing. The connector is configured to provide an acoustic channel between the enclosure and the headrest wing such that audio signals from the one or more acoustic transducers are radiated outward through the headrest wing.

Controlling acoustic output through headrest wings

The technology described in this document can be embodied in a method for controlling acoustic output radiating through an adjustable wing of a seat headrest. The method includes receiving, from a sensor disposed in the seat headrest, an input signal indicative of a position of the adjustable wing. The position can be one of multiple positions within an angle range. The method also includes updating, based on the input signal, values for one or more control parameters associated with a transducer that generates the acoustic output radiating through the adjustable wing, and adjusting the transducer in accordance with the position of the adjustable wing using one or more control signals that are generated based on the updated values of the one or more control parameters.

PORTABLE GUITAR AMPLIFIER

A portable amplifier is disclosed. In embodiments, the portable amplifier comprises a cabinet that opens and closes on a diagonal to contain all internal components, and optimizes sound quality. In embodiments the portable amplifier can be connected to an extension cabinet in order to provide an additional speaker. The portable amplifier can function on AC or DC power, and features user-friendly lighted ports and controls. The amplifier can feature AINiCo speakers and a three-spring reverb tank. The portable amplifier can be optimized for weight and power to achieve output of about 4 to about 5 watts per pound.

Audio spatial effects are provided using a gimbal-mounted ultrasonic speaker array in which a vertical line of ultrasonic speakers are provided on a speaker mount and are angled to direct sound at respective different elevation angles. The speaker mount can be rotated by a gimbal. In this way, the azimuth angle of the linear array is established in response to a control signal from, e.g., a game console or video player, with elevational angle of the desired sound beam being established by selecting one or more of the speakers in the linear array with the appropriate elevation angle.
