Method and device for acute sound detection and reproduction
Earpieces and methods for acute sound detection and reproduction are provided. A method can include measuring an external ambient sound level (xASL), monitoring a change in the xASL for detecting an acute sound, estimating a proximity of the acute sound, and upon detecting the acute sound and its proximity, reproducing the acute sound within an ear canal, where the ear canal is at least partially occluded by an earpiece. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Apparatus, Method and Computer Program for Enabling Audio Zooming
Examples of the disclosure relate to apparatus, methods and computer programs for enabling audio zooming. The apparatus can include circuitry configured for determining, for an audio signal, if sound energy in at least one first direction is different to sound energy in at least one second direction by at least a threshold amount. The circuitry may also be configured for controlling an amount of headroom provided based on whether or not sound energy in at least one first direction is different to the sound energy in at least one second direction by at least a threshold amount.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR GENERATING AUDIO SIGNAL
An electronic device and method for generating an audio signal is provided. According to various example embodiments, an electronic device may include a display configured to depict visual information to the outside of the electronic device. The electronic device further includes an actuator to cause the display to vibrate. A processor is electrically connected to the actuator and the display. The processor applies a pilot signal to the actuator, and detects an amount of vibration of the display caused by applying the pilot signal. The processor sets an environment of the audio signal based on the amount of vibration of the display.

The microspeaker enclosure includes a microspeaker, an enclosure case in which the microspeaker is mounted, the enclosure case including a back volume communicating with the microspeaker, and a porous block installed in the back volume and prepared by mixing first porous particles having excellent adsorption capacity of nitrogen or oxygen and second porous particles having a porosity of 50% or more.
Microspeaker Enclosure Including Block Formed of Porous Particles
The present disclosure provides a microspeaker enclosure including a block formed of a porous material. The microspeaker enclosure including a block formed of a porous material includes a microspeaker, an enclosure case in which the microspeaker is mounted, the enclosure case including a back volume communicating with the microspeaker, a porous block installed in the back volume, having 3-nm pores having air adsorption performance and 6-nm pores serving as a passage for air circulation in a predetermined ratio, and including porous particles combined as a block, and a film attached to one surface of the porous block.
AIRFLOW SENSORS FOR SPEAKERS
Aspects of the subject technology relate to electronic devices having speakers and airflow sensors for the speakers. In one or more implementations, the airflow sensor may be formed, in part, by a mesh structure that spans a port in a housing of the electronic device. In one or more implementations, the airflow sensor may be formed, in part, by an exposed portion of a conductive trace of the speaker.
Wireless Communications And Transducer Based Event Detection Platform
A low-cost, multi-function adhesive wireless communications and transducer platform with a form factor that unobtrusively integrates one or more transducers and one or more wireless communication devices in an adhesive product system. In an aspect, the adhesive product system integrates transducer and wireless communication components within a flexible adhesive structure in a way that not only provides a cost-effective platform for interconnecting, optimizing, and protecting the constituent components but also maintains the flexibility needed to function as an adhesive product that can be deployed seamlessly and unobtrusively into various applications and workflows, including sensing, notification, security, and object tracking applications, and asset management workflows such as manufacturing, storage, shipping, delivery, and other logistics associated with moving products and other physical objects.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device includes a housing sidewall defining an opening and a display component, such as a display cover, disposed in the opening to form a gap between the housing sidewall and the display component. In at least one example, the cavity is defined by the sidewall and the display cover with the cavity in fluid communication with an external environment through the gap. In at least one example, an epoxy component at least partially defines the cavity and can be in direct contact with the housing sidewall.
Exposed Copper Area for Port Electrostatic Discharge Protection
The disclosure generally relates to a conductive layer having one or more protrusions configured to attract an electrostatic discharge (“ESD”) arc. The device may be any device, such as a smartphone, tablet, earbuds, etc. The device may include a microphone and, therefore, may include a microphone opening. The conductive layer may include a conductive opening axially aligned with the microphone opening and one or more protrusions extending radially inwards towards the center of the conductive opening.
