Multi-channel cinema amplifier with power-sharing, messaging and multi-phase power supply
An integrated cinema amplifier comprises a power supply stage that distributes power over a plurality of channels for rendering immersive audio content in a surround sound listening environment. The amplifier automatically detects maximum and net power availability and requirements based on audio content by decoding audio metadata and dynamically adjusts gains to each channel or sets of channels based on content and operational/environmental conditions. A power supply stage provides power to drive a plurality of channels corresponding to speaker feeds to a plurality of speakers. The amplifier has a front panel having an LED array with each LED associated with a respective channel or group of channels of the multi-channel amplifier, and a control unit configured to light the LEDs according to display patterns based on operating status or error conditions of the amplifier.
DETECTION AND CLASSIFICATION OF AUDIO EVENTS IN GAMING SYSTEMS
A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, a gaming system that cooperates with a graphical user interface to enable user modification and enhancement of one or more audio streams associated with the gaming system. In embodiments, the audio streams may include a game audio stream, a chat audio stream of conversation among players of a video game, and a microphone audio stream of a player of the video game. Additional embodiments are disclosed.
Controlling audio output
This specification describes an apparatus for controlling audio output. The apparatus provides first and a second audio components for output to first and second audio transducers of a wearable device, determine a proximity between the wearable device and a third audio transducer and determining a first or second state of the first and second audio transducers, and controlling output of at least one of the first and second audio components based on the determined proximity and the state of the first and second transducers. Responsive the proximity being under a threshold and the state of the first transducer being in a first state whilst the second transducer is in a second state, the apparatus causes output of the audio component associated with the second state transducer to be transferred to the third audio transducer whilst continuing to output the audio component associated with the first state transducer to said transducer.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SCREEN RELATED AUDIO OBJECT REMAPPING
An apparatus for generating loudspeaker signals includes an object metadata processor configured to receive metadata, to calculate a second position of the audio object depending on the first position of the audio object and on a size of a screen if the audio object is indicated in the metadata as being screen-related, to feed the first position of the audio object as the position information into the object renderer if the audio object is indicated in the metadata as being not screen-related, and to feed the second position of the audio object as the position information into the object renderer if the audio object is indicated in the metadata as being screen-related. The apparatus further includes an object renderer configured to receive an audio object and to generate the loudspeaker signals depending on the audio object and on position information.
Providing spatial audio signals
An apparatus, method and computer program product for: providing spatial audio signals for output for a first user via a first audio device and a second audio device, receiving an indication of deactivation of the second audio device, receiving an indication that the second audio device is re-activated by a second user, and performing, in response to receiving the indication that the second audio device is re-activated by the second user, a modification of the spatial audio signals.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RENDERING ACOUSTIC SIGNAL, AND COMPUTERREADABLE RECORDING MEDIUM
In cases of rendering a multichannel signal such as a 22.2 channel signal as a 5.1 channel signal, a three dimensional (3D) audio signal may be reproduced using a two dimensional (2D) output channel, but rendered audio signals are sensitively affected by a layout of speakers and may cause distortion of a sound image when the layout of arranged speakers is different from a standard layout. The present invention may solve the aforementioned problem of the prior art. The audio signal rendering method for reducing distortion of a sound image even when the layout of the arranged speakers is different from the standard layout, according to one embodiment of the present invention, includes: receiving a multi-channel signal including a plurality of input channels that are to be converted to a plurality of output channels; obtaining deviation information about at least one output channel, from a location of a speaker and a standard location corresponding to each of the plurality of output channels; and modifying a panning gain from a height channel included in the plurality of input channels to the output channel having the deviation information, based on obtained deviation information.
System and method for loudspeaker position estimation
Embodiments of systems and methods are described for estimating a position of a loudspeaker and notifying a listener if an abnormal condition is detected, such as an incorrect loudspeaker orientation or an obstruction in a path between the loudspeaker and a microphone array. For example, a front component of a multi-channel surround sound system may include the microphone array and a position estimation engine. The position estimation engine may estimate the distance between the loudspeaker and the microphone array. In addition, the position estimation engine may estimate an angle of the loudspeaker using a first technique. The position estimation engine may also estimate an angle of the loudspeaker using a second technique. The two angles can be processed to determine whether the abnormal condition exists. If the abnormal condition exists, a listener can be notified and be provided with suggestions for resolving the issue in a graphical user interface.
Headphone device for reproducing three-dimensional sound therein, and associated method
3D audio virtualization within headphone-type sound reproduction devices, comprises: deriving an HRTF, comprising a PRTF, that includes acoustical effects due to pinnae and ear canals, and a remainder HRTF, that includes acoustical effects due to head, shoulders, torso and other body parts while excluding acoustical effects from pinnae and ear canals; wherein the remainder HRTF is electronically implemented and omits acoustical effects due to pinnae and ear canal effects; and wherein the PRTF is acoustically implemented and personalized to the user through use of two or more transducers positioned such that a front plane of the transducer, the front plane of the transducer's diaphragm, the transducer's mechanical center or the transducer's acoustical center point are 25 mm or more from a user's ear canal entrance, and/or oriented so the 0° axis of acoustical output is aligned with the acoustical output axes of typical external loudspeakers positioned in the acoustical far-field.
Music collection navigation device and method
An audio navigation device comprising an input means for inputting two or more audio pieces into the navigation device; a spatialization means for allocating a position in the form of a unique spatial coordinate to each audio piece and arranging the audio pieces in a multi-dimensional arrangement; a generating means for generating a binaural audio output for each audio piece, wherein the audio output simulates sounds that would be made by one or more physical sources located at the given position of each audio piece; an output means for simultaneously outputting multiple audio pieces as binaural audio output to a user; a navigation means for enabling a user to navigate around the audio outputs in the multi-dimensional arrangement; and a selection means for allowing a user to select a single audio output.
