Systems and methods are disclosed for generating a display of a navigation map. The system may comprise a historical data source device having, for example, a historical data source computer and a database storing historical data associated with one or more of vehicle accident data, traffic data, vehicle volume data, vehicle density data, road characteristic data, or weather data. The system may comprise a map data processing device having a map data processing computer and memory storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the map data processing computer, cause the map data processing device to, for example, determine, based on a location determining device, a location of a vehicle. The map data processing system may determine one or more historical factors based on the location of the vehicle. The map data processing system may receive, from the historical data source device and for the location, historical data associated with the one or more historical factors. Based on the location of the vehicle, one or more real time factors and real time data associated with the one or more real time factors may be calculated. The map data processing system may calculate, using the one or more historical factors and the one or more real time factors, a navigation score for each segment of a route from the location to a destination location. The map data processing system may determine one or more colors for each navigation score and/or generate a display of a navigation map comprising the one or more colors.

A processing apparatus includes a control unit. The control unit is configured to acquire facility information containing an advertisement or publicity on a facility located along a travel route that a vehicle is scheduled to travel or a facility located within a predetermined range from the travel route, and, while the vehicle is traveling along the travel route, process an image of a first facility associated with the facility information or an image of a second facility present around the first facility based on the facility information and display the image of the first facility or the image of the second facility on a display provided in the vehicle.
Automated tools for generating building mapping information
Techniques are described for computing devices to perform automated operations related to using images acquired in a building as part of generating a floor plan for the building, in some cases without using depth information from depth-sensing equipment about distances from the images' acquisition locations to objects in the surrounding building, and for subsequent use in further automated manners, such as controlling navigation of mobile devices and/or for display to end users in a corresponding GUI (graphical user interface). In some cases, the MIGM system interacts with an MIGM system operator user, such as by displaying a GUI showing information related to the images and/or a floor plan being generated, and by receiving and using input submitted by the user via the GUI to assist with the generating of the floor plan, such as to specify interconnections between particular rooms via particular inter-room wall openings of the rooms.

The present invention includes methods, circuits, devices, systems and associated computer executable code for providing driver decision making support. According to some embodiments, there may be provided a driver decision support system, which may generate action recommendations to a commercial driver, such as a taxi driver, a cab driver, a limo driver or any other kind of driver who picks up and transports passengers or cargo on an ad hoc (or otherwise flexible/uncertain) basis.
METHOD FOR SPECTRALLY EFFICIENT DETERMINATION OF COLLECTIVE ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION FOR COOPERATIVE AND/OR AUTONOMOUS DRIVING
A method for the acquisition of collective surroundings information for cooperative and/or autonomous driving. The method includes a vehicle equipped with an on-board unit and surroundings observation apparatus which produces a report about a detected vehicle not equipped with an on-board unit and transmits the report to the further vehicles which are moving or are located in the respective area. The further vehicles which receive the report transmit back a confirmation message to the reporting vehicle and confirm that the further vehicles are happy with the report. The further vehicles then refrain from transmitting a separate report about the unequipped vehicle.
POWER GENERATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR WHEELED OBJECTS
A power generation system for wheeled objects comprises a generator mechanically coupled to one or more of the object's wheels to convert wheel rotational energy into electrical energy. The power generation system may comprise an electrical storage device configured to store the electrical power produced by the generator. Power from the generator and/or the electrical storage device can be used to provide power to other electrical systems in or on the object. In certain embodiments, the electrical storage device comprises a bank of high-capacity capacitors connected in series. Some embodiments use a control circuit, for example, to regulate the charging and discharging of the capacitor bank and to provide suitable voltages for other systems. The power generation system may be disposed within an object's wheel, such as a wheel of a shopping cart.
TECHNIQUES FOR COMPRESSING RF HEAT MAPS FOR ACCESS POINTS
Techniques for providing access point (AP) vicinity information are disclosed. In one example, the techniques include determining a first set of vicinity information corresponding to signal values for an AP at a set of grid points for the coverage area of the AP, encoding the first set of AP vicinity information based at least on a difference between AP vicinity information values for adjacent grid points to generate a second set of AP vicinity information, and providing the second set of AP vicinity information to a device. In one example, the techniques include receiving, for a set of grid points, a first set of AP vicinity information that is compressed based at least on a difference between AP vicinity information values for adjacent grid points, and performing decompression to obtain a second set of AP vicinity information corresponding to signal values for an AP at the set of grid points.
Vehicle location assistance using audible signals
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to using audible cues to guide a passenger to a vehicle having an autonomous driving mode. For instance, one or more processors of the vehicle may receive, from a server computing device, instructions to pick up the passenger at a pickup location. The one or more processors may maneuver the vehicle towards the pickup location in the autonomous driving mode. The one or more processors may receive a signal indicating that the passenger requests assistance locating the vehicle. The one or more processors may use the signal to generate the audible cues. The audible cues may be played by the one or more processors through a speaker of the vehicle in order to guide the passenger towards the vehicle.
Driverless Vehicle Movement Processing and Cloud Systems
A system for navigating a vehicle automatically from a current location to a destination location without a human operator is provided. The system of the vehicle includes a global positioning system (GPS) for identifying a vehicle location and a communications system for communicating with a server of a cloud system. The server is configured to identify that the vehicle location is near or at a parking location. The communications system is configured to receive mapping data for the parking location from the server, and the mapping data is at least in part used to find a path at the parking location to avoid a collision of the vehicle with at least one physical object when the vehicle is automatically moved at the parking location. The mapping data is processed by electronics of the vehicle so that when the vehicle is automatically moved collision with the at least one physical object is avoided and the electronics of the vehicle is configured to process a combination of sensor data obtained by sensors of the vehicle. The processing of the sensor data uses image data obtained from one or more cameras and light data obtained from one or more optical sensors.
