Access Method for Network Service and Related Mobile Terminal Apparatus
A network service accessing method for a mobile terminal apparatus includes adding an access profile column of an application protocol data unit (APDU) of an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) of the mobile terminal apparatus; enabling a first profile and a second profile of the eUICC of the mobile terminal apparatus; sending a command of accessing a first issuer security domain profile (ISD-P) of the first profile or a command of accessing a second ISD-P of the second profile; and accessing data of the first ISD-P of the first profile or data of the second ISD-P of the second profile.
Capability indication method, terminal, and network-side network element
This disclosure provides a capability indication method, a terminal, and a network-side network element. The capability indication method includes: obtaining first information, where the first information includes at least one of the following: first indication information of a terminal capability, and terminal capability information mapped to the first indication information; and sending second indication information of the terminal capability based on the first information.
METHOD OF COORDINATING MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF USER PLANE TRAFFIC PROCESSING IN A DATA NETWORK
A method of coordinating multiple instances of user plane traffic processing in a data network is described. The method includes the following steps: receiving control plane data from at least one basis station by a control plane of the data network, wherein the control plane data is associated with at least two subscribers connected to the at least one basis station; generating subscriber and user plane session data based on the received control plane data by a subscriber and session collector module, wherein the subscriber and user plane session data is associated with the at least two subscribers; selecting a user plane function instance out of a plurality of user plane function instances based on the subscriber and user plane session data by a load balancing module, wherein the selected user plane function instance is associated with exactly one subscriber; receiving user plane data from the at least one basis station, wherein the user plane data is associated with the at least two subscribers; and processing at least a portion of the user plane data by the selected user plane function instance. Further, a data network is described.
SIM-BASED UPDATE MANAGEMENT
Systems and methods are provided for managing updates to user devices, and in particular, SIM-based OTA updates. In some cases, SIMOTA updates need to be made while a user device has a cellular connection (e.g., 4G/LTE, 5G). As such, an instruction is transmitted to the user devices that need a SIM-based update but that currently have a non-cellular connection. The instruction is for the user devices to deregister from the non-cellular connection and to reregister using a cellular connection. An indication is received that at least a portion of those user devices now currently have a cellular connection. The SIM-based updates are then transmitted to those user devices.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SWITCHING DATA SESSION IN USER EQUIPMENT WITH DUAL SIM IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. For example, the disclosure relates to a method for switching a data session for an application, implemented in a user equipment with dual SIM. The method includes: determining a User Equipment (UE) Route Selection Policy (URSP) rule for a primary Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) and a secondary SIM. The method includes detecting a trigger for switching the data session of the application to the secondary SIM based on determination of the URSP rule, wherein the trigger includes one of a matching traffic descriptor, a dedicated network slice, a Quality of Service (QoS) rule and a user preference. The method includes configuring the secondary SIM for the DDS based on the trigger; and switching the data session of the application to the secondary SIM for continuing the data session.
Enhanced network connectivity for a connected car and onboard user equipment
A connected car and an onboard user equipment (UE) may establish independent cellular connections and may also establish a connection between each other. The UE establishes a first cellular link between the UE and a first network, establishes a connection with a connected car, wherein the connected car has a second cellular link between the connected car and a second network, evaluates one or more conditions and declares one of the first cellular link or the connection with the connected car a primary network interface for the UE based on, at least, the one or more conditions.
Discovering an embedded subscriber identification module root discovery service endpoint
A method includes receiving a request to provision an embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile to an eSIM-enabled device. The request includes a proxy eSIM identifier (EID) prefix. The eSIM profile is associated with a service provider of a mobile communication service a user of the device subscribes to. The method also includes determining whether the proxy EID prefix includes an address of a target discovery server the device is configured to connect to, and when the proxy EID prefix includes the address the method includes extracting the address of the target discovery server from the proxy EID prefix. Using the extracted address of the target discovery server, the method also includes registering a discovery event with the target discovery server indicating that the service provider has reserved the eSIM profile to the proxy EID or an actual EID assigned to the device.
Mobile assisted enhancements to reduce radio resource control (RRC) signaling
Techniques discussed herein can reduce RRC signaling messages, and various aspects can employ one or more of these sets of techniques. A first set of techniques can be employed to reduce RACH (Random Access Channel) requests from an RRC Idle State SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) of a UE in DSDS (Dual SIM Dual Standby) mode. A second set of techniques can be employed to reduce the number of RACH attempts to obtain NotBroadcasted (e.g., On Demand) SI(s) (System Information(s)) by a UE in response to a page message indicating SI modification.
Method and system for providing communication services using a plurality of remote subscriber identity modules
A method and a wireless communication device for providing communication service to devices connected to the wireless communication device. By establishing a starter wireless carrier connection using a starter SIM from a plurality of local SIMs, the wireless communication device establishes one or more logical data connections with one or more SIM banks. Remote-SIMs are selected from the one or more SIM banks and used to establish further wireless carrier connections to allow communication service to be provided to the devices over wireless carrier connections.
Processing call requests when a user equipment is barred
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a user, input associated with a call request. The UE may select a first subscription, of at least two subscriptions associated with the UE, based at least in part on at least one parameter associated with a unified access control (UAC) check for the call request. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE may display, on a screen of the UE, an indication that the call request is barred based at least in part on the UAC check. Numerous other aspects are described.
