Transmission Mode Conversion Indication Method, Access Network Device, and Terminal Device
20230007533 · 2023-01-05 ·

A transmission mode conversion indication method includes: sending a first message to a core network or sending a second message to a terminal device, so as to indicate that a transmission mode conversion is required, where the first message carries first user information and first multicast group information.

Method and system for enabling the creation and maintenance of proximity-related user groups

Techniques are described for providing location-based information and functionality to people and computing devices in various ways. In at least some situations, the techniques include enabling multiple people in a common geographic area to interact in various ways, such as via devices capable of communications (e.g., cellular telephones, computing devices with wired and/or wireless communications capabilities, etc.), while in other situations at least some users who are remote from a particular geographic area may be allowed to intercommunicate with one or more other users or other entities in or related to that geographic area. In addition, the techniques include enabling the creation and maintenance of location-based virtual groups of users (also referred to as “clouds”), such as for users of mobile and/or fixed-location devices. Such clouds may enable various types of interactions between group members, and may be temporary and/or mobile.

Techniques for enhancing group communication on a mobile device

Techniques for enhancing group communication on a device are described. A method may include presenting a message in a message portion of a user interface (UI) for a group communication application executing on a first device, where the group communication application communicates messages among multiple devices. The method may further include monitoring an input component for the first device and detecting a first control directive from the input component. The first control directive may select a message displayed in the message portion of the user interface. The method may further include performing a pin operation on the selected message; and presenting the pinned message in a banner portion of the UL Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Methods and apparatuses for dynamically updating routing identifier(s)

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for dynamically updating routing identifiers (IDs) are provided. One method may include deciding, at a network node, to update a routing identifier for at least one user equipment. The method may then include obtaining or generating a new routing identifier to be assigned to the at least one user equipment along with authentication vectors, and transmitting the new routing identifier to an authentication entity.

Managing data traffic in a subscription-based network access system

Described herein are systems and methods that dynamically manage network traffic for individual subscribers based on past and current data usage rates. The disclosed systems and methods operate to control data traffic for a group of subscribers that share a common access network or that share a common access link to an access network. Prior to an individual subscriber reaching their data plan limit, the disclosed systems and methods track individual subscribers' past and current data rates and manage individual subscribers' current usage rates so that each subscriber's continually or periodically updating past usage rate stays within a provisioning rate for the group. This can improve user experience because rather than waiting until a subscriber has reached their plan data limit to impose strict data usage restrictions, the disclosed systems and methods use modest restrictions continuously or intermittently during the plan period.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ACCESS OF TERMINAL TO PRIVATE NETWORK
20230021988 · 2023-01-26 ·

The present disclosure relates to a communication technique that combines IoT technology with a 5th generation (5G) or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate than a 4th generation (4G) communication system such as long term evolution (LTE), and to a system therefor. The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services (for example, smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars or connected cars, healthcare, digital education, retail businesses, security and safety-related services, etc.) on the basis of 5G communication technology and IoT-related technology. According to various embodiments of the present invention, a method and apparatus for controlling an access of a terminal in a wireless communication system that provides a private network slice may be provided.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GROUP-BASED NETWORK MANAGEMENT
20230232205 · 2023-07-20 ·

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus and computer program products for group-based network management. A method implemented at a first network node in a wireless communication network comprises: receiving, from a second network node, a request for subscription data for a terminal device; and transmitting the subscription data to the second network node, wherein the subscription data comprises group data of at least one group to which the terminal device belongs.

Configuration of a repeater via system information

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may receive a system information block (SIB) including configuration information associated with configuring operation of a plurality of repeaters, wherein repeaters in the plurality of repeaters are configured to receive signals from first wireless communication devices and forward the signals to second wireless communication devices. The wireless communication device may communicate in a set of resources based at least in part on the configuration information included in the SIB. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Techniques to facilitate fast roaming between a mobile network operator public wireless wide area access network and an enterprise private wireless wide area access network

Presented herein are techniques to facilitate fast roaming between a mobile network operator-public (MNO-public) wireless wide area (WWA) access network and an enterprise private WWA access network. In one example, a method is provided that may include generating, by an authentication node, authentication material for a user equipment (UE) based on the UE being connected to a public WWA access network, wherein the public WWA access network is associated with a mobile network operator, and the authentication node and the UE are associated with an enterprise entity; obtaining, by the authentication node, an indication that the UE is attempting to access a private WWA access network associated with the enterprise entity; and providing, by the authentication node, the authentication material for the UE, wherein the authentication material facilitates connection establishment between the UE and the private WWA access network.

DISCOVERY AND SELECTION OF A STANDALONE NON-PUBLIC NETWORK (SNPN) BASED AT LEAST IN PART ON AN SNPN ROAMING GROUP
20230015696 · 2023-01-19 ·

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of one or more SNPN roaming groups associated with a network to which the UE is subscribed. The UE may determine that a transmission from an SNPN identifies a roaming group identifier associated with an SNPN roaming group of the one or more SNPN roaming groups. The UE may register with the SNPN based at least in part on determining that the transmission identifies the roaming group identifier. Numerous other aspects are provided.
