Remote SIM Provisioning

Various aspects include methods for supporting remote Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) profile provisioning that may be performed by a Lightweight Machine-to-Machine (LwM2M) server and LwM2M client computing devices, such as Internet of Things (IoT) devices. A LwM2M server may generate a remote SIM provisioning object for the LwM2M client computing device indicating that the SIM profile update for the LwM2M client computing device is available, and send the remote SIM provisioning object to the LwM2M client computing device. A LwM2M client computing device may receive a remote Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) provisioning object from a LwM2M server indicating that a SIM profile update for the LwM2M client computing device is available, and download the SIM profile update in response to receiving the remote SIM provisioning object.

COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS

This application provides methods and apparatuses for communication. In an example method, a first digital reflection (DR) receives a first message, where the first message includes data to be sent to a first terminal device and an identifier of the first terminal device, and the first DR is associated with the first terminal device. The first DR transmits the data to the first terminal device based on a local locator (LLOC) of the first terminal device, where the first DR stores a twin-globally unique temporary identity (TWIN-GUTI) of the first terminal device, the TWIN-GUTI includes the LLOC, the LLOC corresponds to the identifier of the first terminal device, the first DR is deployed on first multi-access edge computing (MEC), and the TWIN-GUTI is generated by the first MEC.

SUBSCRIBER IDENTITY MODULE BASED RADIO POLICY MANAGER

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device in which a processing system detects installation of a subscriber identity module (SIM) on a communication device configured for connection to the network; the SIM includes a radio policy manager (RPM) provided by the network operator to manage network policies. The system also monitors connection of the communication device to the network and communications between the SIM and a processor of the communication device. The RPM determines whether the communication device is compliant with the network policies; if the communication device is not compliant with the network policies, the RPM causes the connection of the communication device to the network to be disabled. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Method and apparatus for managing cag related procedure in wireless communication network

The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A method and apparatus for managing CAG related procedure in a wireless communication network is provided.

Method and apparatus for installing and managing profile using message service

The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5.sup.th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. The disclosure discloses a terminal including a transmission and reception unit and at least one processor. The at least one processor controls the transmission and reception unit so that the transmission and reception unit receives a message such as an SMS, an MMS, or an OTT including event download information from a communication operator server, searches for event download information from the received message such as the SMS, the MMS, or the OTT, transmits the event download information to another terminal if necessary, and receives an event from a profile server with reference to the event download information.

Providing a roaming policy federation in a third generation partnership project (3GPP) network environment

Presented herein are techniques associated with replicating an OpenRoaming™ policy federation in a Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) network environment. For example, techniques herein provide a roaming policy federation architecture for a 3GPP network environment. In one example a method is provided that may include encoding a multi-bit roaming policy for an identity provider within a plurality of multi-bit 3GPP broadcast identifiers in which the multi-bit roaming policy includes bit-wise roaming policy information for the identity provider. The method may further include configuring the plurality of multi-bit 3GPP broadcast identifiers for a mobile device associated with the identity provider. In one instance, detecting, by the mobile device, at least one multi-bit 3GPP broadcast identifier of the plurality of multi-bit broadcasting identifiers being broadcast by a visited radio access network triggers the mobile device to perform an authentication with the identity provider.
