Maintaining access to services via SIM card
Implementations of the subject technology provide for storing a temporary certificate on a mobile device for accessing services in association with a primary number. A device determines that a first subscriber identity module (SIM) card, previously used by the device, is not available for use by the device. The device determines that a second SIM card is available for use by the first device within a predetermined time period after the first SIM card is determined to be not available for use by the device. The device confirms that a communication identifier of the first SIM card is strongly tied to a user account associated with the device. The device stores a temporary certificate that attests to continued ownership of the communication identifier by the device and allows the device to access at least one service in association with the communication identifier.
Event Triggered Network Migration of Subscribers
A method includes receiving, by an equipment identity register application in the target mobile network, an International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) of a user equipment (UE) associated with the subscriber and a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) identifier (ID) identifying an inactive SIM card inserted into the UE or an inactive electronic SIM (eSIM) profile installed at the UE, determining that the UE is attempting to attach to the target mobile network for a first time based on the IMEI and the SIM ID, adding an event to an event queue of the target mobile network, and processing the event by accessing subscriber data stored at the source mobile network to validate that the IMEI of the UE is indicated in the subscriber data stored at the source mobile network, wherein the subscriber data includes a subscriber account indicated by the IMEI of the UE.
COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS
This application provides a communication method and apparatus. The method includes: A network device pre-allocates a first identifier to a terminal device. When the terminal device has a requirement for adjusting the first identifier, the terminal device may send a first message carrying first information to the network device, to request the network device to adjust the first identifier. According to the method and the apparatus in this application, the identifier of the terminal device may be flexibly adjusted.
Remote SIM Provisioning
Various aspects include methods for supporting remote Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) profile provisioning that may be performed by a Lightweight Machine-to-Machine (LwM2M) server and LwM2M client computing devices, such as Internet of Things (IoT) devices. A LwM2M server may generate a remote SIM provisioning object for the LwM2M client computing device indicating that the SIM profile update for the LwM2M client computing device is available, and send the remote SIM provisioning object to the LwM2M client computing device. A LwM2M client computing device may receive a remote Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) provisioning object from a LwM2M server indicating that a SIM profile update for the LwM2M client computing device is available, and download the SIM profile update in response to receiving the remote SIM provisioning object.
Method for the generation of personalized profile package data in integrated circuit cards
A method can be used for the generation of personalized Profile Package data in integrate circuit cards. A table includes data records corresponding to subscriptions to be generated. Each record includes personalization fields to store different types of personalization values. For a given subscription, a file for the Profile Package is in an ASCII format and includes fields to be personalized corresponding to one or more of the fields to store different types of personalization values. The file for the Profile Package in the ASCII format is converted into a hexadecimal code. An offset table is calculated for the given subscription indicating for each field to be personalized a corresponding offset in the hexadecimal profile. The personalization values from the personalization fields are substituted in the corresponding personalization fields to be personalized.
INFORMATION PROVIDING METHOD FOR PROVIDING INFORMATION REGARDING TERMINAL ACTIVATION AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE PERFORMING THE SAME
A method performed by an electronic apparatus to provide information associated with activation of a portable terminal according to various embodiments includes acquiring order information associated with the portable terminal, acquiring information associated with delivery of the portable terminal corresponding to the order information from a server, and, based on the order information and the information associated with the delivery of the portable terminal, providing the information associated with the activation of the portable terminal, and the information associated with the activation comprises information on whether the portable terminal has been shipped out.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DISCOVERING AND SELECTING NETWORK FOR PROVISIONING UE SUBSCRIBER DATA
The present disclosure relates to a pre-5.sup.th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). According to an embodiment, a method and apparatus for selecting a serving network by a provisioning server in a wireless communication system comprises receiving, from a user equipment (UE), first stand-alone non-public network (SNPN) information including an identifier (ID) of at least one SNPN received by the UE and second SNPN information including an ID of an SNPN with which the UE is in onboarding process, receiving contractual relationship information related to the UE from a default credential server, and selecting a serving SNPN for the UE based on the first SNPN information, the second SNPN information, and the contractual relationship information.
AUTHORIZATION OF A DEVICE BEING EQUIPPED WITH AN EMBEDDED UNIVERSAL INTEGRATED CIRCUIT CARD
A method and device for registering an embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC) for a device and a method and device for controlling authorization of operation of a device being equipped with an eUICC. In an aspect, a method of a service node of registering an eUICC for a device is provided. The method comprises receiving information specifying ownership of the device and an identifier of the device, receiving an identifier of the eUICC and an identifier of the device, and storing the received information, wherein ownership of the device and the identifier of the eUICC being arranged in the device is registered with the service node.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR CELL IDENTIFICATION IN WIRELESS NETWORKS
Apparatus and methods for physical cell identification within one or more wireless networks. In one embodiment, conflicts in PCI values which may exist within two or more mobile networks (e.g., PLMNs) of respective different operators when unlicensed spectrum is utilized (e.g., according to 3GPP 5G NR-U technology) are resolved. In one implementation, this functionality is provided by specifying one or more mobility-related parameters associated with various UE, such that serving gNBs can determine whether a given UE requires a mobility context, and as such whether it should conduct subsequent RF measurement reporting to report back potential conflicts in PCI it may encounter to the gNB. In one variant, the measurement reporting is configured to comply with 5G NR-U required “listen-before-talk” or LBT protocols; i.e., to measure parameters consistent with the LBT protocols to detect any such PCI-based conflicts.
