The apparatus having a timer circuit coupling each of the first, second, and third sensors to a respective first indicator, second indicator, and third indicator, the timer circuit triggering, over a predetermined amount of time, the first indicator upon an ideal impact detected by the one or more first sensors, the second indicator upon a thin impact detected by the one or more second sensors, or the third indicator upon a fat impact detected by the one or more third sensors.
SMART NET FOR USE IN SPORTS TRAINING
Disclosed are devices, systems, and methods for training a player to hit a ball at a target, an exemplary net for use in such a system includes one or more display elements configured to display a target towards which the player should hit the ball, and one or more sensors configured to detect an impact between the ball and the net, and determine whether the detected impact between the ball and the net is at the target.
Height target scoring device
The present invention provides a height target exercise scoring device comprising a pad adapted to absorb repeated impacts, the pad including a front surface, a rear surface, and one or more impact sensors positioned beneath the front surface. The target height exercise scoring device also includes a housing coupled to the pad including a control system. The control system includes an interface for inputing a target height parameter, and a processor coupled to the one or more impact sensors configured to determine whether an impact registered by the array of impact sensors occurs on the pad at or above the input target height. The a control system can wirelessly communicate with a mobile device configured to execute a mobile application for configuring the settings of the scoring device, and to send data to, and receive data from, the scoring device.
SHOOTING TRAINING SYSTEM
Shooting training systems have a self-propelled robotic target support platform operable to navigate on an extended surface, the platform supporting a target, the platform including a sensor array adapted to detect and register shot information about a shot generated by a shooter passing proximate the target, a transmitter on the platform adapted to transmit the shot information, and a receiver associated with the shooter adapted to receive the shot information and to provide shot information to the shooter. The platform may be a vehicle adapted to operate over a ground surface in any direction. The platform may be a watercraft. The platform may be a wheeled vehicle. The sensor array may be adapted to detect and register shot information including a location and direction of the shot. There may be a plurality of robotic target support platforms, each having a sensor array. The receiver may be adjacent to the shooter.
GOALIE TRAINING DEVICE AND METHOD
A goalie training apparatus comprised of multiple catchment voids for receiving balls. Catchment voids are oriented on a grid, and connected to a goal frame by a support matrix. Each catchment void is pyramidal in shape, having an open base for receiving a ball with an initial cross sectional area and tapering to a smaller cross sectional area. The support matrix may be woven through internal sleeves in the catchment voids and connected to the goal frame by fasteners. An anchor support may be used to help anchor the support matrix and keep the goalie training apparatus in place across the opening of a goal during use.
Method and apparatus for a user-configurable athletic training apparatus
An athletic training system includes one or more panels that present a rigid front surface covered by a translucent material behind which is an illumination or light source and a pressure sensor that can detect and measure the pressure caused by impact of a ball (i.e. a soccer ball). A control device communicates with and controls the panels according to a selected exercise regimen that is designed to develop particular skills for an athletic or sporting endeavor by commanding the panel or panels to illuminate (i.e. turn on its light source). While illuminated, the panel actively monitors its pressure sensor for an indication of an impact, and upon detecting an impact, reports the detection of the impact to the control device, and turns off its illumination. The process of turning panels on and off and detecting impact can be used to construct various regimens for training and developing skills.
ACTION SOUND CAPTURE USING SUBSURFACE MICROPHONES
Methods and systems for generating an audio mix indicative of action sound captured at an event on a surface (e.g., a sporting event on a field) using a microphone array, where the array includes subsurface microphones (e.g., a large number of sub-surface microphones) positioned under the surface, and optionally also other microphones. In typical embodiments, at least one point of interest (PI) on the surface is selected in an automated manner, PI data indicative of a currently selected PI on the surface is generated (e.g., a sequence of PIs on the surface is selected, the PI data is indicative of the sequence of PIs, and a most recently selected PI in the sequence is the currently selected PI), and the audio mix is generated in response to the PI data. Aspects include methods performed by any embodiment of the system, and a system or device configured (e.g., programmed) to perform any embodiment of the method.
Multiple sensor tracking system and method
A system and method for tracking the flight of golf balls at driving range. The invention includes a plurality of hitting stations, a plurality of sensors, a computer, and a range surface. Each hitting station in the plurality of hitting stations includes a golf ball, a golf club, a monitor, and a sensor. At least one other sensor in the plurality of sensors is placed outside the hitting station. The flight path of the golf ball is calculated by the computer using parameters by the plurality of sensors. The method includes steps for determining whether a first sensor detected a first parameter and a second parameter, whether a second sensor detected a first and a second parameter, whether a third sensor detected a third parameter, and depicting the flight path of the golf balls using the first parameter, the second parameter, and the third parameter.
Impact sensitive sports rebound wall
A sports rebound wall is provided that includes: a rebound surface, at least one target area formed in the rebound surface, and a resistive matrix sensor formed on, or embedded in, the target area. The matrix sensor includes a first array of substantially parallel conductive tracks and a second array of substantially parallel conductive tracks. The first array and the second array are spaced apart from one another. The rebound wall has a matrix sensor that is capable of providing information about the force, location and timing at which the target area of the sports rebound wall is impacted. This is made possible by the specific construction of the matrix sensor.
