Remote subscription management of an eUICC comprising a private key and a public certificate, the public certificate comprising information allowing a subscription manager server to decide if it can agree to manage the eUICC. The method includes: establishing a secure channel between the terminal and the subscription manager server by using the public certificate and dedicated cryptographic services of the eUICC; sending to the subscription manager server a subscription management request; verifying, based on the information in the public certificate in the subscription manager server, whether the eUICC is entitled to be managed by the subscription manager server and, if yes: performing a key establishment procedure between the subscription manager server and the eUICC by using the eUICC public certificate; establishing between the subscription manager server and the eUICC a secure channel with the established keys; and, executing by the subscription manager server the subscription management request on the eUICC.

Embedded Subscriber Identity Module Non-Fungible Token System
20220394484 · 2022-12-08 · ·

A telecommunication includes a computing device and a mobile device. The computing device is in communication with a blockchain network, a subscription manager data preparation (SM-DP) platform, and the mobile device. The computing device is configured to perform a first set of operations. The first set of operations includes retrieving an identity token from the blockchain network. The identity token is a first non-fungible token uniquely identifying a user of the mobile device. The first set of operations further includes retrieving, from the SM-DP platform, an embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile for the identity token from the blockchain network. The first set of operations further includes generating, via the blockchain network, a second non-fungible token. The second non-fungible token includes the eSIM profile. The mobile device is in communication with the blockchain network.

EMBEDDED UNIVERSAL INTEGRATED CIRCUIT CARD (eUICC) PROFILE CONTENT MANAGEMENT
20220385446 · 2022-12-01 ·

A mobile network operator (MNO) uses a provisioning server to update or install profile content in a profile or electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM). In an exemplary embodiment, the profile is present on a secure element such as an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) in a wireless device. One or more MNOs use the provisioning server to perform profile content management on profiles in the eUICC. In some embodiments, an MNO has a trust relationship with the provisioning server. In some other embodiments, the MNO does not have a trust relationship with the provisioning server and protects payload targeted for an MNO-associated profile using an over the air (OTA) key.

Secure provisioning of electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) profiles

A method of providing an electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile to a wireless communication device. The method comprises receiving an eSIM profile provisioning request by a subscription manager-data preparation+ (SM-DP+) server, wherein the provisioning request comprises an embedded UICC identifier (EID) number, a private identity code, and wireless communication service subscription information; building an eSIM profile package by the SM-DP+ server based in part on the wireless communication service subscription information, wherein the eSIM profile package comprises an eSIM profile, the EID number, and the private identity code; sending a notification of the availability of the eSIM profile by the SM-DP+ server to a subscription manager-discovery server (SM-DS server), wherein the notification comprises the EID number and the private identity code; and transmitting the eSIM profile package by the SM-DP+ server to the wireless communication device.

Virtual line registration system

An improved core network that allows a UE to still initiate and/or receive communications via a native SIM line even if the registration of a virtual line fails is described herein. For example, the UE may include embedded virtual line settings that, when enabled, cause the UE to transmit a virtual line registration request to the core network. The core network can determine whether the UE is authorized to register a virtual line. If the UE is authorized, the core network can register a native SIM line, register the virtual line, and transmit a single message to the UE indicating that the native SIM and virtual lines are registered. If the UE is not authorized, the core network still registers the native SIM line and transmits a single message to the UE indicating that the native SIM line is registered.

VSIM module for portable apparatus

The present invention provides a vSIM module for a portable apparatus. The portable apparatus at least includes a slot. The vSIM module comprises a radio frequency chip, a baseband processor, a memory, an application processor, and a connector. The radio frequency chip is couple to an antenna. The baseband processor is coupled to the radio frequency chip. The memory is configured to store a vSIM connectivity management program. The application processor is coupled to the memory for executing the vSIM connectivity management program. The connector is configured to connect with the slot of the portable apparatus. When the vSIM connectivity management program is executed by the application processor, a vSIM service is activated.
