SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CREATING AND MANAGING WIRELESS NETWORKS
20170366971 · 2017-12-21 ·

A system includes user device, first and second communication devices, and a server. The user device transmits a first device identifier associated to the server. The server generates and stores a first wireless network identifier and a first password corresponding to the first device identifier. The server transmits the first wireless network identifier and first password to the first communication device. The first communication device creates a wireless network, which is accessed by the user device using the first wireless network identifier and first password. Further, the user device transmits the first device identifier to the server. The second communication device receives the first wireless network identifier and first password from the server. The second communication device creates the wireless network, which is automatically accessed by the user device.

Method and system for coordinated use of mobile radio frequencies

A method and a system with which a primary user, in particular a mobile radio operator, can make a part of the radio spectrum range which is reserved exclusively for the mobile radio operator available in localized and/or time-restricted fashion to a local end user who requested the restricted usage authorization of the radio spectrum range using registered credentials at the mobile radio operator. By way of the credentials the mobile radio operator can allow the local end user limited usage of that radio spectrum range in fee-bearing fashion and can bill same. The local user can then use the assigned frequency band in accordance with his own needs. In particular the user can wirelessly transmit signals in the assigned frequency range between end devices to which no credentials are allocated and in that situation use a transmission protocol which is not defined for the mobile radio network.

System and method for managing access point functionality and configuration

A system for managing access point functionally and configuration includes a server that is coupled to a computer network and configured to communicate with an access point via the computer network. The access point is configured to couple a mobile device to the computer network by providing a wireless link between the mobile device and the access point. The access point is further configured to produce a status point regarding the access point and the server is configured to receive the status report from the access point following a trigger event at the access point. In other examples, the server is further configured to transmit a response message and/or a configuration file to the access point in response to the status report that is received at the server. Other features and systems are also disclosed.

REFARMING TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECTRUM BLOCKS IN A TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK
20230198694 · 2023-06-22 ·

A spectrum refarm system defines, for each of multiple geographic regions, a spectrum set that represents telecommunications spectrum blocks in use in a corresponding geographic region and a first distribution of technical allocations of each spectrum set. The first distribution of technical allocations for an identified spectrum set specifies telecommunications technologies that are deployed on the spectrum blocks in the identified spectrum set and a number of the spectrum blocks on which each technology is deployed. The spectrum refarm system can maintain the spectrum sets in a data store and modify information in the data store to cause a distribution of technical allocations for a first spectrum set to change from a respective first distribution to a second distribution. Information in the data store is also modified to cause a distribution of technical allocations for a second spectrum set to change from a respective first distribution to a third distribution.

Flexible gateway for heterogeneous-device management

An interface circuit in an electronic device may communicate using communication protocol in a shared band of frequencies. During operation, the interface circuit may perform a scan of available channels in the shared band of frequencies, and may detect one or more used channels in the shared band of frequencies that are reserved or used by another communication protocol (such as a primary channel that is used by both of the communication protocols). Alternatively, the interface circuit may receive, from another interface circuit in the electronic device, information specifying the one or more used channels in the shared band of frequencies that are reserved or used by the other communication protocol. Next, the interface circuit may mask the one or more used channels from the available channels, and the interface circuit may select one or more channels from the remaining available channels for use with the communication protocol.
