VIDEO INTERCONNECT TERMINATION CHARGING
20170374202 · 2017-12-28 ·

This disclosure describes a video interconnect system that may establish a Video over Long Term Evolution (ViLTE) communication session between two interacting client devices. In some examples, the video interconnect system may selectively establish a ViLTE communication based on one or more rules associated with the domain information of interacting client devices, availability of network bandwidth, bandwidth consumption of a video component of the ViLTE communication, or established service agreements between telecommunication service providers of the interacting client devices. Further, the video interconnect system may facilitate generating termination charges for a video and/or audio communication session of a ViLTE communication. For example, a video component of the ViLTE communication may be charged and metered based on data usage, and an audio component of the ViLTE communication may be charged and metered based on the duration and relative location of the interacting client devices.

Cooperative communication method, cloud server, and core network server
09854472 · 2017-12-26 · ·

A cooperative communication method includes determining bandwidth of a first wireless network that user equipment (UE) currently accesses, determining bandwidth required by data to be sent to the UE, and when the bandwidth of the first wireless network cannot meet the bandwidth required by the to-be-sent data, sending a first part of data packets to the first wireless network, and sending a second part of the data packets to at least one core network, so that the at least one core network sends the second part of the data packets to the UE using at least one wireless network, where a communications protocol of the first wireless network is different from that of the at least one wireless network. Bandwidth resources can be integrated on wireless networks with different communications protocols, so that fluent transmission of data can be implemented.

System and method for providing data services on vehicles

Devices, systems, methods and computer-readable media are provided for data communication to and from a vehicle. A device is provided that includes memory storing processor-executable instructions; and at least one processor in communication with the memory that executes the stored instructions to: receive, from at least one user on the vehicle, at least one request for data communication; identify a plurality of communication links available at a current location of the moving vehicle; form an adaptive bonded communication link using the plurality of communication links to aggregate throughput across the plurality of communication links for the requested data communication, wherein the adaptive bonded communication link is configured to adapt to data communication requirements for the requested data communication and to data communication characteristics of the plurality of communication links as the vehicle moves. Corresponding methods, computer system products, uses, and computer-readable media are also provided.

Partial information throttle based on compliance with an agreement

Partially reduces performance or features of a user's electronic device if the user does not comply with an agreement. An agreement may specify tasks or activities to be performed, such as homework or chores, or required results such as grades. Partial throttling of the device when the user is not in compliance with the agreement may include for example disabling a subset of the apps or services on the device, slowing down the device or selected applications, denying access to selected information sources, limiting audio volume or display resolution, or limiting time on activities such as web browsing. The device may remain usable, but with reduced features or performance. Throttling actions may also be based on location, schedule, or environmental conditions. The system may reward compliance with the agreement by increasing performance, by re-enabling previously disabled applications, or by providing direct rewards such as money or credits.

Transmitting notifications using a transmission number

A first indications from a first beacon of one or more beacons at a first time is received. A transmission number is requested from a server device. The transmission number is received from the server device. Responsive to receiving the first indication from the first beacon, whether the first time is within the transmission number is determined. Responsive to determining the first time is within the transmission number, the first indication is transmitted to the server device.

Data pre-fetch upon imminent WiFi link loss

A method performed by a device that has a current first network connection to a first network. The device determining one or more current conditions associated with the device, determining whether a disconnect of the first network connection is imminent based on the one or more current conditions and responsive to determining that the disconnect is imminent, performing a pre-fetch operation to request data over the first network connection for at least one application resident on the device.

A method includes: receiving, by a session management function (SMF) network element, identification information from an access and mobility management function (AMF) network element; obtaining, by the SMF network element, information about a plurality of anchor user plane function (UPF) network elements of a session based on the identification information, wherein each of the plurality of anchor UPF network elements is used as an Internet protocol (IP) anchor of a user equipment in the session; and sending, by the SMF network element, the information to a branching point, wherein the branching point is a UPF network element managed by the SMF network element and the branching point is capable of diverting traffic.

MULTI SUBSCRIPTION NETWORK PRIORITIZATION

Various communication systems may benefit from appropriate prioritization of users and/or devices. For example, wireless communication systems may benefit from multi-subscription network prioritization, such as systems for prioritizing subscribers with multiple subscriptions that are using fewer devices than they have subscriptions. A method can include determining that a device is associated with a plurality of subscriptions. The method can also include determining at least one related device is not in use, wherein the at least one related device is associated with same plurality of subscriptions. The method can further include assigning a higher priority to the device based on the determinations that the device has the plurality of associated subscriptions and has at least one related device not in use.
