Reuse and management of wireless channels

A network environment includes a communication management resource, a first wireless station, and a second wireless station. The communication management resource initially allocates a first wireless channel to the first wireless station; the first wireless channel is selected from multiple available wireless channels. The communication management resource detects that a second wireless station is a substitute to the first wireless station. For example, the second wireless station is substituted as a replacement to the first wireless station. In response to the detecting that the second wireless station is a substitute to the first wireless station, the communication management resource allocates the first wireless channel to the second wireless station.

Weighted MEC selection for application-based MEC traffic steering

A network device receives location information for a user equipment device (UE), an application identifier (ID), and a latency requirement associated with a data session involving the UE. The network device retrieves from a database, based on the UE's location information, the application ID, and the latency requirement, Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) selection weight values associated with multiple MEC platforms. The network device selects a MEC platform, from among the multiple MEC platforms, based on the retrieved MEC selection weight values, and causes the data session to be established between the selected MEC platform and the UE.

Data transmission via a high frequency radio band

Systems and methods for communicating information within a business organization network using a one or more communication bands on a HF communication network. A computer device may be used to control communication by selecting a frequency band and/or frequency at which communication may take place to optimize latencies to at or near the physical limitation of HF radio wave communication over long distances.

By a vehicle wireless communication device or a communication control method, short-range communication via an access point of a wireless local area network placed outside the vehicle is performed, cellular communication via a cellular base station is performed, a mobility state of the vehicle, determined, a communication path for communication between the in-vehicle device and the external device is selected, the short-range communication is more preferentially adopted, as the communication path of the in-vehicle device, than the cellular communication when the mobility state is equal to or lower than a predetermined reference level, and the cellular communication is adopted when the mobility state exceeds the predetermined reference level.

WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FOR MOVING VEHICLES, SUCH AS TRAINS, WITH IMPROVED PRIORITIZATION
20230199544 · 2023-06-22 ·

A method and system for wireless communication between a router in a moving vehicle, such as a train, and a stationary communication server outside the moving vehicle through at least one external mobile network on at least one link are disclosed. The method comprises: providing a first output buffer and a second output buffer, and determining whether said data stream is of a data type belonging to a set of prioritized data types. In case the data stream is of a data type belonging to the set of prioritized data types, the first output buffer is selected, and in case the data is of a data type not belonging to the set of prioritized data types, the second output buffer is selected.

Various arrangements for performing navigation based on characteristics of a cellular network are provided. A quality of experience (QoE) level required for a wireless service to be performed for a networked device may be determined. A current location and a destination for a vehicle may be determined. A wireless network slice coverage area map may be accessed that maps network performance characteristics for the cellular network across a geographic region. A navigation route from the current location to the destination based on the wireless network slice coverage area map and the determined QoE may be determined. The determined navigational route may be output to a navigation system.

METHODS FOR SUPPORTING END TO END QOS

A method for achieving an end-to-end quality of service (QoS) performed by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may include receiving a protocol data unit (PDU) and an excess time indication from a source WTRU, and determining an expected latency for a next hop link based on a measure of channel load. It may also include dynamically determining a next hop latency budget based on the received excess time indication and the expected latency and determining resources for transmitting the received PDU based on the determined next hop latency budget. If the resources are available, the received PDU may be transmitted on the next hop using the determined resources.

The present invention provides methods and apparatus for notifying Quality of Service (QoS) information to User Equipment (UE), Users, and Application server. Embodiments of the present invention may analyze the network QoS and/or statistics of QoS parameters using one or more functions such as Network Data Analytics Function (NWDAF). Embodiments may also provide control plane (CP) functions which may send the QoS information to the UE depending on the UE subscription, application and/or network slice.
