IMPROVED SCHEDULING REQUEST PROCEDURE
20180014322 · 2018-01-11 ·

The invention relates to a method for requesting uplink resources by a user equipment in a communication system, wherein a DRX, Discontinued Reception, function is running at the user equipment. The transmission of a scheduling request for requesting uplink resources to a radio base station is triggered upon triggering of a buffer status report in the user equipment. However, the triggering of the scheduling request is delayed such that the scheduling request is triggered in one of the subframes—preferably the first subframe—of an On-Duration period of a DRX cycle according to the DRX function. Correspondingly, the triggered scheduling request is transmitted to the radio base station in the next possible scheduling request transmission occasion after the triggering of the scheduling request is delayed.

Especially, the method includes the steps of receiving information about first uplink configured grants (CGs) and second uplink CGs from a network; triggering a Buffer Status Report (BSR); and if at least one of the second uplink CGs can accommodate all of data to be transmitted, transmitting the data to the network on the at least one second uplink CG without transmitting the BSR on the first uplink CG, wherein, if the at least one second uplink CG can accommodate the data partially, the BSR is transmitted to the network on the first uplink CG without transmitting the data on the at least one second uplink CG.

Method for reducing power consumption of terminal in mobile communication system using multi-carrier structure

A method for reducing power consumption of a terminal that communicates with a base station in a mobile communication system using a multi-carrier structure composed of a primary component carrier and at least one secondary component carrier comprises: receiving a discontinuous reception (DRX) parameter group for multi carriers from the base station; and setting the multi carriers to the same parameter value, by using the received parameter group. The method for reducing power consumption of the terminal further comprises: performing a downlink control channel receive operation on each carrier according to a DRX cycle. As the base station in the mobile communication system using the multi-carrier structure simplifies the DRX process for reducing power consumption of a terminal by reducing signaling load for the multi-carrier control of the terminal, it becomes possible to reduce power consumption of the terminal.
