Overload control and coordination between M2M service layer and 3GPP networks
Various issues with existing congestion and overload control mechanisms are recognized and described herein. Described herein, in accordance with various embodiments, are various mechanisms in which core networks, such as 3GPP networks for example, and an M2M service layer can coordinate and share information to efficiently and intelligently manage each other's congestion and overload states.
CALL FLOW SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USE IN A LEGACY TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A method of operating a network server, such as a mobile application gateway, connect devices on a cellular or carrier network with individual networks, such as enterprise voice and data networks or residential networks. The effects of the present invention are far reaching in terms of transferring effective call control from the cellular network into the control of the individual network, such as the enterprise, and enabling new business models for the purchase of cellular service from a public cellular carrier by an enterprise.
MITIGATION OF SIGNALLING CONGESTION IN CELLULAR NETWORKS
A method for signalling congestion avoidance based on Non-Access Stratum (NAS) level congestion control in a mobile network includes activating or starting a group specific NAS level congestion control mechanism that applies to a group of terminals; receiving at a serving node of a terminal of the group of terminals an NAS Session Management (SM) request message from the terminal related to a particular access point name (APN); and transmitting from the serving node of the terminal to the terminal one or more NAS reject messages that indicate suppression or prevention of NAS SM signalling of the terminal that is related either to all APNs to which the terminal has established or activated IP bearers or to all APNs to which the terminal has a subscription.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR LOAD BALANCING IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a load balancing for a control in a wireless communication system. According to a various embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for operating a base station in a wireless communication system comprises determining a mobility of a terminal, and responsive to the mobility exceeding a threshold, transmitting, to the terminal, a message for requesting the terminal to process a control plane of the terminal with at least one other base station.
SERVICE PROCESSING METHOD, RELATED APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM
Embodiments of the present invention provide a service processing method, a related apparatus, and a system. The method includes: UE adds a service type indication of a service initiated by the UE to an RRC connection request and sends the RRC connection request to a base station, and adds the service type indication of the service initiated by the UE to a non-access stratum NAS request and sends the NAS request to a mobility management network element. In this way, when a network side performs congestion control or overload control, the base station may determine, according to the service type indication, that the service initiated by the UE is a voice service, a video service, or a short message service, accept the RRC connection request. Similarly, the mobility management network element may accept, according to the service type indication, the NAS request.
ESTABLISHMENT OF CONNECTION TO THE INTERNET IN CELLULAR NETWORK
Some demonstrative embodiments include devices, systems and/or methods to establish a connection to the Internet via a local gateway (L-GW) function for a LIPA or a SIPTO@LN. The establishment of the connection to the Internet may be performed, for example, by at least one of an E-RAB SETUP procedure, an INITIAL CONTEXT SETUP procedure, an INITIAL UE MESSAGE procedure or an UPLINK NAS TRANSPORT procedure.
Detecting airwave congestion and using variable handshaking granularities to reduce airwave congestion
A wireless sensing system includes a gateway node configured to wirelessly communicate with a plurality wireless nodes in an environment, and a first set of the plurality of wireless nodes, each wireless node of the first set configured to wirelessly communicate with the gateway node and to wirelessly communicate with other wireless nodes of the plurality of wireless nodes, each wireless node of the first set comprising a same first group identifier. The gateway node is configured to address the first set of the plurality of the wireless nodes by addressing all wireless nodes in the environment that broadcast the first group identifier.
Packet switch and packet period determination method
A packet switch that determines a time slot for closing transmission of low-priority packets based on a determination result of periods of high-priority packets having periodicity, the packet switch includes: a memory; and a processor coupled to the memory and configured to: determine, for respective input ports, the periods of the input high-priority packets; and determine a setting period of a gate control list in which the time slot for closing is set, based on the determined periods of the high-priority packets.
Methods, systems and wireless communication devices for handling cloud computing resources
A method is disclosed for handling cloud computing resources in a wireless communication network comprising a first and a second access subnetwork providing wireless access to wireless communication devices residing in a first and a second geographic area, respectively, and a first and a second cloud computing resource connected to the first and the second access subnetwork, respectively. The method comprises obtaining mobility information over a time period for the wireless communication devices of when, during the time period, each of the devices has wireless access to the communication network via the first access subnetwork and when they have wireless access to the communication network via the second access subnetwork. The method also comprises selecting which of the first or second cloud computing resource that is to serve each of the devices based on the obtained mobility information, and sending an instruction to each of the devices to connect to a server that is connected to the selected cloud computing resource for that wireless communication device.
Server-assisted routing in network communications
A network node device and method of determining a communication route to one or more other network nodes through a network. The method includes sending current routing information to a network management server (NMS), and receiving new or supplemental routing information from the NMS, this supplemental routing information determined by the NMS based on the current routing information of the network node and the other network node(s). The supplemental routing information may include lateral route information identifying designated routing nodes that form lateral band(s) of nodes that span the network. Each lateral band may include gate node(s) as entrances/exits to the lateral band. The method further includes determining, based on the supplemental routing information, a route to one or more of the other network nodes, which may include an optimal path and/or alternate path(s) from the network node to one or more of the other network nodes.
