Time-division multiplexing of uplink communications during make-before-break handover

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a prioritization rule that indicates a relative priority for different uplink communications included in a group of uplink communications, wherein the group of uplink communications includes at least a first uplink communication and a second uplink communication to be transmitted by the UE using time-division multiplexing during a make-before-break handover procedure. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the prioritization rule, the first uplink communication to a target base station and the second uplink communication to a source base station using time-division multiplexing during the make-before-break handover procedure. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Method for controlling multipoint TCP in wireless communications networks and devices for use therein

A method in a wireless terminal operating in a 3GPP wireless communications network for controlling using MPTCP with a WLAN network, The method comprises receiving from the 3GPP wireless communications network system information comprising a condition for MPTCP with a WLAN network, the condition being associated with mobility characteristics of the wireless terminal. The method further comprises determining a parameter indicative of mobility characteristics of the wireless terminal and disabling MPTCP with a WLAN network if the parameter indicative of mobility characteristics indicates that mobility of the wireless terminal is at or above a value defined in the condition.

Device and Method of Performing a Codec Rate Adaptation in a Wireless Communication System

A communication device for performing a codec rate adaptation comprises at least one storage device for storing instructions and at least one processing circuit coupled to the at least one storage device. The at least one processing circuit is configured to execute the instructions stored in the at least one storage device. The instructions comprise triggering a first transmission of a first MAC CE for a bit rate query or a delay budget reporting, and a second transmission of a data; making a first determination that a transmission priority of the first MAC CE is lower than a transmission priority of the data; allocating the data in a MAC PDU in response to the first determination; and allocating the first MAC CE in the MAC PDU, if a remaining space in the MAC PDU is sufficient for allocating the first MAC CE after allocating the data.

Method for providing an application service in a cellular network

At least one application service is provided to a user equipment (10), utilizing an application service platform (150A) at an access node (110A) of a cellular network and a further application service platform (150A) at a further access node of the cellular network. A parameter is determined which is indicative of a delay associated with transfer of context data from the application service platform (150A) to the further application service platform (150B) in one or more handover messages controlling a handover of the user equipment (10) from the access node (110A) to the further access node (110B). The context data are associated with at least one user session of the at least one application service provided to the user equipment (10). Depending on the determined delay, migration of the user session from the application service platform (150A) to the further application service platform (150B) is controlled.

In some embodiments, a non-transitory processor-readable medium includes code to cause a processor to receive at a tunnel server, a data unit addressed to a communication device, and define, a first instance of the data unit and a second instance of the data unit. The first instance of the data unit is sent to the communication device via a first tunnel defined between at least the tunnel server and a first base station associated with a first network. The second instance of the data unit is sent to the communication device via a second tunnel defined between at least the tunnel server and a second base station associated with a second network. The second instance of the data unit is dropped by the communication device when the first instance of the data unit is received before the second instance of the data unit.

IPv4 Gateway

A system and method for allowing legacy devices to operate on an IPv4 network is disclosed. The system includes a gateway device to interface between IPv4 devices and legacy devices. In some embodiments, the gateway device has a plurality of network interfaces to communicate with these legacy devices. The gateway device discovers the legacy devices that it can communicate with. The gateway device then enumerates these legacy devices in a manner that allows them to be accessible to the IPv4 device. In certain embodiments, the gateway enumerates each legacy device as a port on its IPv4 address.
