Provided are an inter-area media service switching method, a server, a system and a storage medium. A first MEC-CDN node acquires mobile information about a user device from a core network, where the user device establishes a connection with the first MEC-CDN node, and acquires a media service from the first MEC-CDN node; in response to determining, according to the mobile information, that the user device is pre-moved out of a coverage range of the first MEC-CDN node, the first MEC-CDN node determines a second MEC-CDN node and/or a second MEC platform to which the second MEC-CDN node is attached, and establishes a connection with the second MEC-CDN node; the first MEC-CDN node migrates state information about the user device onto the second MEC-CDN node; and in response to determining that the user device enters a coverage area of the second MEC-CDN node, the second MEC-CDN node establishes a connection with the user device, so that the user device acquires the media service from the second MEC-CDN node.

Managing mobile device voice over Wi-Fi handover

The disclosed technology is directed towards preventing a handover of a Wi-Fi call to a Fifth Generation (5G) standalone cellular network. In one alternative, a 5G standalone usage setting is disabled on a mobile device when Wi-Fi calling is enabled on the mobile device. In another alternative, a 5G standalone usage setting is disabled on a mobile device when Wi-Fi calling is enabled on the mobile device and the mobile device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, which facilitates camping on a 5G standalone network when the mobile device is not connected to a Wi-Fi network. In yet another alternative, a 5G standalone usage setting is disabled on a mobile device when an evolved packet data gateway (ePDG) tunnel is set up on the mobile device, which similarly facilitates camping on a 5G standalone network when the ePDG tunnel is torn down.

METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR EFFICIENT REGISTRATION IN AN AREA WHERE A SERVICE IS SUPPORTED PARTIALLY

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for efficient registration for partially supported service areas are provided. One method may include providing, to at least one user equipment registered to a network within a registration area, information comprising one or more lists of single network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAIs) and one or more lists of tracking area identities (TAIs). The one or more single network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAIs) is included in a list of rejected single network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAIs) or in a list of extended rejected single network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAIs), and is associated with a cause value indicating that the one or more single network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAIs) is not supported uniformly in the registration area and is not supported in a current tracking area.

SELECTING A NETWORK NODE THAT SUPPORTS A SLICE REQUIREMENT
20220361081 · 2022-11-10 ·

The present technology is directed to routing a user equipment (UE) to a network node, for example, a gNB or ng-eNB that supports a slice requirement of the UE. A first network node can receive a Radio Resource Control (RCC) connection request from a UE, and can determine that a slice requirement of the UE is not supported by the first network node. The first network node can further select a second network node that supports the slice requirement of the UE, and route the UE to connect to the second network node.

METHOD FOR PROVIDING CONTINUOUS CONNECTIVITY TO A DEVICE
20230043514 · 2023-02-09 ·

A communications system, e.g. an Internet-of-Things (IoT) communications system, includes satellite gateways in addition to terrestrial gateways. High QoS end point devices utilize communications via satellite gateway to be able to communicate with a network server when communications with the network server via terrestrial gateways are unavailable or unreliable. Low QoS end point devices may communicate with the network server via terrestrial gateways but are restricted from using the satellite gateways. An additional receive window, corresponding to the satellite gateway, is used for communicating downlink signals from the satellite gateway to the high QoS end point device.

Method and apparatus for providing data in edge computing system

An application context relocation method performed by an edge enabler client (EEC) included in a user equipment (UE) in an edge computing system is provided. The application context relocation method includes determining to request an application context relocation by detecting that the application context relocation is required for a predicted or expected UE location; determining a target edge enabler server (T-EES) by using T-EES information received from an edge data network (EDN) configuration server; transmitting, to a source edge enabler server (SEES), an application context relocation request to start the application context relocation; receiving, from the S-EES, an application context relocation response, in response to the application context relocation request; and receiving, from the S-EES, an application context relocation notification of completion of the application context relocation.

Call Recovery for Failure

Techniques for call recovery for call failure are described and may be implemented via a wireless device to adapt to a variety of different wireless scenarios. For instance, when multiple call failures for a call occur over a particular set of radio access technologies, an IP-based call and/or a direct device-to-device call can be implemented to complete the call.

UE-Preferred Network Slice Management

A user equipment (UE) is configured to transmit a registration request to a first base station of a cellular wireless network, wherein the first base station operates on a first frequency band, the registration request including a first indication of one or more preferred network slices and receive a registration response from the first base station, the registration response including (i) a second indication of whether the one or more preferred network slices are accessible on the first frequency band and (ii) a third indication of where the UE can access any unsupported one or ones of the one or more preferred network slices.
