Stateful application identification while roaming

Stateful roaming techniques are provided for use in a wireless network. In one embodiment, a method is provided that includes: obtaining flow information descriptive of one or more traffic flows associated with a wireless client device that is associated to a current access point in a wireless network; storing state data representing the flow information for flows associated with the wireless client device together with a traffic descriptor for each flow; determining that the wireless client device is seeking to roam from the current access point to a new access point; and sending the state data for the wireless client device to the new access point to enable the new access point to apply a policy based on the state data before the wireless client device completes its roam to the new access point.

Methods and apparatus for measuring a signal to switch between modes of transmission

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, a system for receiving electromagnetic waves that propagate along a transmission medium, responsive to a signal quality of the electromagnetic waves satisfying a threshold: generating updated electromagnetic waves by conditioning the electromagnetic waves without modifying digital signals conveyed by the electromagnetic waves and inducing propagation of the updated electromagnetic waves along the transmission medium. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Apparatus and method for controlling transmission on high thoughput wireless network

Apparatuses and methods for performing congestion control in a transmission control protocol (TCP) environment in a wireless communication system are provided. At least one recovery session is opened a preset time after a time-out occurs in an original session, and whether link recovery is achieved after the at least one recovery session is opened and before a preset maximum wait time elapses is monitored. If the link recovery is achieved, a transmission speed is recovered according to a scenario corresponding to a time when the link recovery is achieved.

Radar channel switching for Wi-Fi virtual reality

Systems and methods may use radar channels for virtual reality streaming or output. A method may include sending virtual reality content to a head-mounted device over a radar channel, detecting a signal on the radar channel, propagating channel switch feedback to a virtual reality subsystem using an interface between the virtual reality subsystem and a wireless component. The method may include modifying the virtual reality content based on the channel switch feedback, such as by using the virtual reality subsystem.

METHOD FOR PERFORMING BANDWIDTH PART SWITCHING BY A USER EQUIPMENT

The present invention discloses a method of performing Bandwidth Part (BWP) switching by a user equipment (UE). The method comprises scheduling to receive a Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) during a first period; determining whether to perform the BWP switching based on the first period and a second period representing time duration for performing the BWP switching; and when the first period and the second period do not overlap, performing the BWP switching.

Multi-RAT radio resource aggregation with split bearer support

This disclosure relates to aggregation of radio resources provided according to multiple radio interfaces. According to some embodiments, a base station may establish a radio bearer with a wireless user equipment (UE) device. The radio bearer may initially utilize a first radio interface between the base station and the UE. The base station may receive an indication to aggregate radio resources of an access point that utilizes a second radio interface for the UE. Based on the indication to aggregate radio resources for the UE, the base station may redirect at least a portion of data of the radio bearer by way of the access point to be exchanged with the UE using the second radio interface.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS APPARATUS AND METHODS

A method of evaluating whether to handover a terminal device from communicating with a first network infrastructure element associated with a first communication cell to communicating with a second network infrastructure element associated with a second communication cell in a wireless telecommunications system. The method includes establishing an indication of radio conditions associated with a path between the terminal device and the first network infrastructure element; and establishing an indication of a second measurement of radio conditions associated with a communication path between the terminal device and the second network infrastructure element; and determining whether to handover the terminal device from communicating with the first network infrastructure element to the second network infrastructure element based on a comparison of the indication of the first measurement of radio conditions and the indication of the second measurement of radio conditions.

NETWORK SUPPORT FOR LOCALLY OFFLOADED TRAFFIC
20190297051 · 2019-09-26 ·

A communication technique for providing a mobile gateway in a radio node (such as an eNodeB) in a local wireless network that is associated with a venue is described. During the communication technique, the radio node may provide, via the mobile gateway, cellular-telephone-network services. In particular, the mobile gateway may implement functions including: providing, when an electronic device attaches to the local wireless network, an Internet Protocol (IP) address to the electronic device based on a media access control (MAC) address for the electronic device, which is, in part, provided by a mobile management entity (MME) in a cellular-telephone network; triggering, via a supported interface, paging to the electronic device when the electronic device is in idle in the local wireless network; transmitting uplink data and receiving downlink data via a cellular-telephone communication protocol (such as Long Term Evolution or LTE); and/or electronic-device mobility in the local wireless network.

Techniques for configuring an advanced receiver based on cell information, channel allocation information, or a device display status

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may identify a trigger condition relating to one or more of cell information regarding a cell to which the apparatus is connected, channel allocation information regarding the device, or a device display status of the apparatus. The apparatus may selectively activate or deactivate an advanced receiver of the apparatus based at least in part on the trigger condition.
