CELLULAR TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK
This disclosure relates to a method in a cellular telecommunications network, the cellular telecommunications network having a plurality of base stations each having at least one transmitter, each transmitter having at least one coverage area, the method including a first transmitter operating in a first state so as to transmit within a first coverage area according to a first cellular communications protocol only; receiving a request for service according to a second cellular communications protocol in the first coverage area; and, in response, the first transmitter operating in a second state so as to transmit within the first coverage area according to both the first cellular communications protocol and a second cellular communications protocol, wherein the second cellular communications protocol is an older generation than the first cellular communications protocol.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SELECTING COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL TRANSMISSION FREQUENCIES
A method can include, by operation of first communication circuits, determining a quality of a plurality of communication frequencies according to wireless communications of a first protocol type; recording a quality of the communication frequencies; selecting communication frequencies for use by second communication circuits based on the quality of the communication frequencies; and wirelessly transmitting and receiving data with the second communication circuits according to a second protocol different than the first protocol; wherein the first and second communication circuits are collocated on the same device. Related devices and systems are also disclosed.
FAILOVER AND MANAGEMENT OF MULTI-VENDOR NETWORK SLICES
A network slice controller obtains health information of an active network slice provided by a first vendor and health information of a set of backup network slices provided by a second vendor. The network slice controller evaluates, using a set of policies corresponding to management of the active network slice, the health information of the active network slice to determine whether the active network slice has failed. As a result of the failure of the active network slice, the network slice controller identifies one or more backup network slices of the set of backup network slices to serve as new active network slices. The network slice controller activates these one or more backup network slices to serve as the new active network slices for the network.
WIRELESS DEVICE
Disclosed herein is a wireless device including a display, a wireless communication interface configured to wirelessly perform communication with an external device, and a processor configured to activate any one of a first connection mode in which connection with the external device is established through an access point or a second connection mode in which direct connection with the external device is established, based on a network environment and receive, from the external device, image data corresponding to a source image being displayed on the external device according to the activated connection mode and display, on the display, a mirroring image based on the received image data.
Service-based, separated access and paging cell selection and reselection
Systems and techniques are disclosed to separate paging and access cell selection (and use) among available cells based on different paging cell and access cell requirements and specific service availability. A UE selects a first cell that meets paging cell requirements as a paging cell and a second cell that meets service requirements as an access cell. Once the UE selects a paging cell, the UE camps on the paging cell to wait for a paging request or a mobile originated request. The UE can select and camp on the access cell prior to a data need, where latency requirements are strict, or delay access cell selection until there is data to transmit where latency requirements are more lax. The UE may also include measurement information of surrounding cells with a paging response/service request, which a core network uses to speed up establishment of dual connectivity or carrier aggregation.
Method, equipment and system for handing over cell in communication system supporting carrier aggregation
A method, an equipment and a system for handing over a cell in a communication system supporting carrier aggregation. The method includes, when a terminal in the communication system moves to the edge of the currently serving cell, the terminal selects one or more neighbor cells from one or more neighbor cells as measurement objects according to the carrier aggregation manner of the one or more neighbor cells, the terminal measures the capabilities of the measurement objects, and obtains one or more measurement results, and the terminal sends a source base station which currently serving the terminal one or more measurement results as capability measurement reports of the one or more neighbor cells. Also provided are an equipment for handing over a cell in a communication system supporting carrier aggregation, a terminal including the said equipment and a communication system including the said terminal.
Method and apparatus for mobility management
A method for mobility management, an apparatus and a User Equipment (UE) are disclosed. The method includes: obtaining cell set information sent by a cell set in an access network; selecting a target cell set to which a UE may hand over according to the cell set information, and sending information about selection of the target cell set to the target cell set; and receiving information about at least one target cell decided by the target cell set, and providing the information about the target cell to the UE for handover. The method for mobility management between cell sets simplifies mobility management in multi-cell communication and improves performance of the communication system.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS OF AN ALL PURPOSE BROADBAND NETWORK WITH PUBLISH SUBSCRIBE BROKER NETWORK
An example system includes a cellular base transceiver station having an RF coverage area and configured for RF communication with a first entity that is a transceiver device in the RF coverage area, wherein the cellular base transceiver station is communicatively connected to a server through a communication network, wherein the server comprises a first publish-subscribe broker that is part of a publish-subscribe broker network that comprises one or more publish-subscribe brokers, wherein a second entity connected to any of the one or more publish-subscribe brokers in the publish-subscribe broker network accepts communications from the transceiver device if the second entity subscribes to data packets published by the transceiver device, and wherein the data packets published by the transceiver device are routed through the publish-subscribe broker to which the second entity is connected.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS OF AN ALL PURPOSE BROADBAND NETWORK WITH PUBLISH-SUBSCRIBE BROKER NETWORK
A system including a server and a wireless RF access node connected to a communication network is provided. The server provides a first publish-subscribe broker of one or more publish-subscribe brokers forming part of a publish-subscribe broker network. The server connects to the wireless RF access node. A first entity connects via the wireless RF access node to the first publish-subscribe broker using a unicast IP address and thereafter publishes data packets. A second entity connects to the publish-subscribe broker network via any of the one or more publish-subscribe brokers. The server provides packet distribution services via the first publish-subscribe broker for the first entity, the publish-subscribe broker network routes communications from the first entity to the second entity when the second entity is subscribed; and the data packets published by the first entity are routed through the publish-subscribe broker to which the second entity is connected.
COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE, INFRASTRUCTURE EQUIPMENT, WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK AND METHODS
A method is performed in a first infrastructure equipment for a handover of a wireless device from the first infrastructure equipment as a source to a second infrastructure equipment as a target. The method comprises maintaining a mapping between a plurality of packet bearers and a data radio bearer for the wireless device, each of the plurality of packet bearers being configured to provide a specified quality of service, determining that the wireless device should handover from the first infrastructure equipment to the second infrastructure equipment, determining that the second infrastructure equipment does not support the mapping of the plurality of packet bearers to the data radio bearer, and providing an indication of a mapping of the plurality of packet bearers for the second infrastructure equipment after handover to one of a core network equipment and the second infrastructure equipment.
