Candidate link locating by a wireless terminal
A link locating assisting device in a wireless communication network (10) obtains search limitation data concerning the wireless communication network and sends the search limitation data (SLD) to the wireless terminal (12) via a serving network node (14) and a serving link (SLK) for use in obtaining limitations for limiting a search for a set of candidate links (CLK1, CLK2, CLK3). The wireless terminal (12) obtains the search limitation data (SLD), sets limitations for a link search based on the search limitation data, search for candidate links starting with a current link search setting used with the serving link (SLK), and continues searching for candidate links with an offset from the current link search setting that grows with every search until the search limitations have been met.
CORRELATING A ROUTE WITH A NETWORK OPERATION
A method and system for correlating a route with an external Wi-Fi network connection is disclosed herein. The aspects disclosed herein include generating information about the correlation, and employing the correlation for network operations, such as, communicating a file (or files), allowing communication from a vehicle, and/or performing routine updates via a vehicle.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING UNICAST AND BROADCAST TRAFFIC IN A COMMUNICATION NETWORK
The delivery of streaming content to User Equipment (UE) connected to a wireless communication network supports a decision between unicast and broadcast/multicast delivery systems to be made using information associated with the RN(s) serving the UEs. In serving areas associated with a limited number of UEs, the streaming content can be delivered using a series of unicast transmissions, while in other areas where there are a sufficient number of UEs receiving the same content, a broadcast/multicast delivery service can be employed. The RN can switch between the unicast and broadcast/multicast delivery services based on changing demands and situations.

V2X communication apparatus and geo-networking transmission method
Disclosed is a geo-networking transmission method of a V2X communication apparatus. The geo-networking transmission method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes receiving a geo-networking packet; identifying whether the received geo-networking packet is a packet which is prestored in a buffer; determining whether to perform a forwarding progress of the geo-networking packet, when the received geo-networking packet is not a prestored packet; storing the received geo-networking packet in the buffer and starting a timer, when the forwarding progress is determined; and transmitting the geo-networking packet, when the timer expires.
Systems and methods for routing path optimization in a network of moving things
Systems and methods are provided for routing path optimization in a network of moving things. A mobile access point (MAP) of a vehicle communication network may include one or more processors configured to determine a path score for each of a communication paths to a destination for a communication, based on at least one vehicle-dependent feature associated with at least one reachable mobile node, with the at least one vehicle-dependent feature including, for each reachable mobile node, one or more of expected travel route of the reachable mobile node, an expected down time of the reachable mobile node, an expected time of high utilization of the reachable mobile node, and a degree to which the reachable mobile node is presently in-range. The one or more processors may select a route for the communication based on the determined path scores for the communication paths.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND COMMUNICATION METHOD
A wireless communication device has: wireless communication unit; calculation unit for calculating an evaluation value based on an opportunity for communication with the access providing device; transmission unit for transmitting the evaluation value to the other wireless communication device; acquisition unit for acquiring an evaluation value for the other wireless communication device; and communication control unit. When the other wireless communication device has more opportunities for communication than the wireless communication device does, the communication control unit preferably transmits uplink information, but when the other wireless communication device has less opportunity for communication than the wireless communication device does, the communication control unit preferably transmits downlink information.
Cell Site Gateway (CSG) Determining Method and Apparatus
A cell site gateway (CSG) determining method includes a first device obtains, before a first moment, a location range in which a mobile device is located at the first moment; and the first device obtains an identifier of at least one target CSG based on the location range before the first moment, where the at least one target CSG can provide downlink data transmission for the mobile device at the first moment. The target CSG that can provide the downlink data transmission for the mobile device at the first moment is further determined through estimation of the location range in which the mobile device is located at a subsequent first moment.
ENHANCED MOBILE DEVICE CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN WIRELESS NETWORKS
A mobile device for enhanced mobile device wireless network connectivity is provided that includes a user interface, a hardware processor, and a non-transitory memory configured to store one or more programs. The hardware processor executes the one or more programs to store a map of wireless networks, calculate a route of travel for the mobile device, and determine a list of wireless networks connectable to the mobile device. A schedule is created for connecting the mobile device to the wireless networks on the list and connecting the mobile device to a first one of the wireless networks on the schedule along the route. The mobile device switches sequentially from the first one of the wireless networks to a next one of the wireless networks in the schedule so the mobile device is connected to at least one of the wireless networks on the schedule while moving along the route.
