Efficient and dynamic addressing methods to a plurality of receivers

A transmitter is configured to communicate with a multiplicity of receivers, and is configured to transmit first data, the first data including a non-unique addressing information addressing a subset of the multiplicity of receivers, the subset including at least two receivers, the transmitter further being configured to transmit second data, the second data including a further addressing information or transmitted according to a further addressing information, the addressing information addressing one receiver (or one group of receivers) of the subset of the multiplicity of receivers.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS THAT IDENTIFIES EXACT DISTANCE TO TRANSMITTING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

An information processing apparatus which is capable of identifying an exact distance to a transmitting apparatus. A received radio wave intensity is measured when a radio wave transmitted from a transmitting apparatus via a short-range wireless communication is received, and a distance to the transmitting apparatus is identified based on a distance management table in which the received radio wave intensity and a distance associated with the received radio wave intensity are managed. A received radio wave intensity at a reference position a predetermined distance away from the transmitting apparatus is measured. The distance management table is calibrated based on the measured received radio wave intensity at the reference position.

Automated scanning systems for non-destructive inspection of curved cylinder-like workpieces

Systems and methods for high-speed non-destructive inspection of a half- or full-barrel-shaped workpiece, such as a barrel-shaped section of an aircraft fuselage. Such workpieces can be scanned externally using a mobile (e.g., translating) arch gantry system comprising a translatable arch frame disposed outside the fuselage section, a carriage that can travel along a curved track carried by the arch frame, a radially inward-extending telescopic arm having a proximal end fixedly coupled to the carriage, and an NDI sensor unit coupled to a distal end of the telescoping arm. The stiffeners of the fuselage sections can be scanned using a mobile scanner platform disposed inside the fuselage section, which platform comprises a radially outward-extending telescopic arm rotatably coupled to a mobile (e.g., holonomic or linear motion) platform and an NDI sensor unit coupled to a distal end of the telescoping arm. The scan data is matched with position data acquired using any one of a plurality of tracking systems to enable the display of NDI features/flaws on a three-dimensional representation of the workpiece.

Systems and methods for enabling additional devices to check in to Bluetooth low energy (BLE) beacons

Systems and methods are provided for checking many users in to a location using a Bluetooth® low energy (BLE) beacon. The provided systems and methods may allow a BLE beacon to facilitate a check in with a remote server that processes check ins and then disconnect from the device used to check in. The device may be assigned a unique identifier that may be broadcast from the device during the check in so that the BLE beacon can quickly scan for the identifier and connect with the device based on the identifier to provide content and other information to the device.

Method and system for battery life improvement for low power devices in wireless sensor networks

A method at a sensor module within a sensor system for communicating with a gateway, the method including storing a timing profile for communications with the gateway; waking a radio core of the sensor module at a threshold time prior to a beacon signal being expected from the gateway; sampling a channel for the beacon signal at the radio core; if the beacon signal is detected: waking a processor on the sensor module; exchanging communication with the gateway; and powering down the processor and radio core upon completion of the exchanging communication.

Determining Semantic Travel Modes

Systems and methods for determining semantic travel modes are provided. In one embodiment, a method can include obtaining a plurality of location reports from a user device. Each of the plurality of location reports can include at least a set of data indicative of an associated location and time. The method can further include determining a travel period associated with the user device based on the plurality of location reports. The method can include obtaining one or more personalization signals that include a set of data associated with a semantic travel mode. The method can include determining that the user device is associated with the semantic travel mode during the travel period based at least in part on the plurality of location reports and the one or more personalization signals.

ZERO CONFIGURATION OF AN ACCESS POINT CONNECTING TO A MESH NETWORK

A client access point joins a wireless network over a wireless connection in order to allow stations access to the wireless network. To join, the client access point (having a wireless connection to a mesh network) receives a beacon frame with unique identifiers of authorized client access points from a host access point (having a wired connection to the mesh network). Responsive to a unique identifier of the beacon frame matching the unique identifier of the client access point, a connection request for a connection is sent. A connection response confirming configuration of the client access point with the host access point in accordance is received.
