Control search space overlap indication

A user equipment (UE) may receiving, from a base station, a synchronization signal block (SSB) of a set of quasi-collocated (QCL) SSBs, the SSB comprising an indication of a parameter indicating information associated with a plurality of downlink control channel locations corresponding to the set of QCL SSBs. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the parameter, the plurality of downlink control channel locations corresponding to the set of QCL SSBs. The UE may receive a downlink grant for a system information based at least in part on monitoring one or more downlink control channel locations of the plurality of downlink control channel locations. The UE may receive the system information based at least in part on the downlink grant. The UE may establish a connection with the base station based at least in part on the SSB and the received system information.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR USING TIME SHIFTED ANALYSIS BASED ON GATHERING NON-ENCRYPTED INFORMATION FROM PACKETS

The present invention relates to wireless networks and more specifically to systems and methods for selecting and implementing communication parameters used in a wireless network to optimize communication between access points and client devices while accounting for effects of adjacent networks. In one embodiment, the present invention includes a Wi-Fi coordinator device that receives packet information from devices within wireless range of the Wi-Fi coordinator. The Wi-Fi coordinator sends the packet information to a cloud intelligence engine which then time shifts the packet information and combines the packet information with other packet information. Using this integrated packet information, the cloud intelligence devices determines the access point settings to improve the operation of the network.

Various solutions for handling of paging context with respect to user equipment (UE) in mobile communications are described. A UE may receive a paging message with a system information modification and a redistribution indication. The UE may start a timer and perform a first inter-frequency redistribution procedure according to a first set of system information block (SIB) parameters. The UE may further receive a second set of SIB parameters before the timer is expired. The UE may perform the first inter-frequency redistribution procedure according to the second set of SIB parameters after receiving the second set of SIB parameters.

Two-tier sector RF beamforming adaptation

Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, an apparatus of a user equipment (UE) comprises baseband circuitry including one or more processors to decode a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) or a beam reference signal (BRS) received from an evolved Node B (eNB) to select a Tier-1 sector for receiving downlink transmissions from the eNB, decode a downlink control channel message received from the eNB at one or more fixed time offsets after the UE decodes the SSS to obtain index information for the Tier-1 sector to identify the Tier-1 sector, and if the Tier-1 sector has changed initiate a random access procedure to select an updated Tier-1 sector, and generate an updated Tier-1 sector index message to report to the eNB.

Linking search space sets for physical downlink control channel repetitions

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Linking multiple search space sets for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) repetition may be enabled in a system. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a configured search space set association from a base station. The association may indicate, to the UE, a configuration between a first PDCCH candidate and a second PDCCH candidate. The first PDCCH candidate may correspond to a first search space set, while the second PDCCH candidate may correspond to a second search space set. The UE may monitor the first and second search space set based on the configuration. The UE may combine the first PDCCH candidate with the second PDCCH candidate monitored in the first and second search space set based on capabilities of the UE and the configuration. The UE may decode the combined PDCCH candidates along with individual PDCCH candidates.

On-demand multicast control channel messages

Methods, systems, and devices for on-demand multicast control channel (MCCH) messages are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, system information indicating an MCCH message configuration. Based on receiving the MCCH message configuration, the UE may transmit a request for an MCCH message. For example, the UE may transmit the request for the MCCH message by a random access preamble or a radio resource control (RRC) message. After transmitting the request, the UE may receive the MCCH message in accordance with the MCCH message configuration. That is, the base station may receive the request and transmit the MCCH message in response to the request. The MCCH message may indicate a multicast service radio bearer (MRB) configuration for receiving multicast traffic. Thus, the UE may receive multicast traffic from the base station in accordance with the MRB configuration.

METHOD OF PROTECTING A COMMUNICATION NETWORK
20180013783 · 2018-01-11 · ·

A method of determining a quantitative measure of the danger (a Trust/Risk) that a select network entity poses to the security and integrity of a communications network, the method includes setting a plurality of parameters. The parameters define the degree to which various behaviors within the communications network are considered usual or anomalous. Actual behavior of the select network entity is observed by watching network traffic using network packet-collection, recording packet properties, and using the packet properties to associate a select packet with the select network entity. Self-report messages broadcast by the select network entity are also observed. The Trust/Risk of the select network entity is then determined based on a comparison of the actual behavior to the self-report message and a comparison of the actual behavior to the plurality of parameters.

The random access method of the present disclosure comprises: receiving configuration information concerning a currently activated downlink bandwidth part (BWP) or a serving cell; detecting a random access response (RAR) in a random access procedure according to the configuration of a control resource set (CORESET) in the configuration information of the currently activated downlink BWP or the configuration information of the serving cell.

On-demand system information broadcasting system

A communication system is disclosed in which a base station manages the transmission of on-demand system information to optimise the trade-off between the additional signalling overhead associated with on-demand transmission and the resource usage inefficiencies associated with the sometimes unnecessary transmission of system information on a periodic basis. The base station manages switching from on-demand transmission to periodic transmission, and vice versa, based on one or more utilisation thresholds.
