POWER SAVING ENHANCEMENTS WITH TRACKING REFERENCE SIGNAL (TRS) IN IDLE MODE
A method of providing tracking reference signal (TRS) in idle mode for power consumption enhancements is proposed. A user equipment (UE) operates in an idle mode of communication with a wireless communication network, and receives a system information block (SIB) or a paging early indication (PEI) from the wireless communication network when the UE is in the idle mode. The received SIB or PEI includes TRS configuration. The UE detects a TRS from the wireless communication network based on the TRS configuration when the UE is in the idle mode.
INDICATION OF PREFERRED PAGING CARRIER
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for indicating a user equipment (UE) preferred paging carrier. According to certain aspects, a method for wireless communications by a UE generally includes generating a cell measurement report, transmitting the cell measurement report to a network entity, transmitting, to the network entity, an indicator of a preferred paging carrier, and monitoring paging occasions (POs) in at least the preferred paging carrier.
User equipment assistance for paging procedures
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to determine a time gap between receiving a paging early indication (PEI) and receiving a paging message based on a link quality of the UE. The UE may determine the time gap based on a number of reference signals the UE may measure after receiving the PEI to obtain channel information for accurately decoding a forthcoming paging message and a periodicity of the reference signals. The UE may transmit UE assistance information (UAI) to the base station during an active state to indicate the time gap. The UE may receive a configuration message from the base station indicating a configured time gap for the UE based on the UAI. The UE may receive the PEI and monitor a paging occasion for the paging message according to the configured time gap.
SCHEMES FOR SSB TO PAGING CORESET MAPPING IN NR
The present invention relates to a user device, a base station, and data transmission and reception methods to be performed by a user device and a base station in a communications system. The user device comprises circuitry which, in operation, calculates the starting location of a paging region comprising resources in which user devices are paged, the paging region including paging information for paging said user device; and determines an offset with respect to the starting location of the paging region, the offset indicating the location of the paging information for paging said user device relative to the starting location of the paging region.
Paging a user equipment over unlicensed spectrum
Methods and apparatus for paging comprise receiving data destined for a UE. The methods and apparatus further comprise determining a short identity for the UE relative to a longer global user equipment identity and identifying a MIB transmission based on a short identity. Moreover, the methods and apparatus comprise activating a bit within a slot of the MIB transmission to indicate that the user equipment listen for a page in order to receive the data and broadcasting the MIB. In other aspects, methods and apparatus for receiving a page comprise entering an idle state while camped on a cell. The methods and apparatus further comprise waking up from the idle state to monitor a slot of a MIB for a paging indication. Moreover, the methods and apparatus comprise recognizing the paging indication in the monitored slot of the MIB, determining a paging window based on correlation information in a SIB and waking up to listen for a page during the paging window.
Paging method and apparatus
The present disclosure provides a paging method and apparatus, pertaining to the technical field of communications. The method includes: acquiring first paging indication information and at least one piece of second paging indication information based on current paging details of each User Equipment (UE) and a UE identifier of the each UE, a bit of the first paging indication information being configured to indicate whether a paged UE is present in a UE group, and a bit of the second paging indication information being configured to indicate whether a UE in a UE group is paged; broadcasting the first paging indication information on a first paging time-domain resource, the first paging time-domain resource being a time-domain resource for an information synchronization; and broadcasting the at least one piece of second paging indication information on a second paging time-domain resource. According to the present disclosure, occupation of transmission resources is reduced by broadcasting paging indication information.
BEAMFORMED PAGING TRANSMISSION
One or more techniques for beamformed paging are disclosed. A transmission/reception point (TRP) may transmit a paging inquiry signal using beam sweeping in a paging inquiry (PI) block with a different time, frequency resource set and/or sequence configuration associated with the same paging occasion (PO), for example, to randomize and/or distribute WTRUs into different monitoring groups. A WTRU may transmit an uplink paging inquiry response indicating a downlink beam for a paging data transmission and/or a WTRU ID. A downlink control and/or a data channel transmission may be triggered by a paging inquiry response transmission. Paging downlink control information may be transmitted in a WTRU-specific control channel, which may contain CRC bits masked by a temporary paging identity, e.g., based on a WTRU ID that may be reported in a paging inquiry response transmission. A WTRU paging procedure may be based on a paging inquiry signal and/or response transmission.
CONTROLLING COMMUNICATION DEVICES BY ACTIONS TRIGGERED BY PAGING
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for controlling communications devices. An access node can generate a message for at least one communication device for transmission at a resource determined at least partly on the basis of a first identifier value assigned to said at least one communication device. The generation comprises including in the message at least one other identifier value, wherein the other identifier values are assigned to communication devices for a purpose of addressing messages to communication devices. The at least one other identifier value is used exclusively for said at least one communication device at said resource and is recognisable to said at least one communication device as instruction to take one or more actions associated with the at least one other identifier value. A communication device can check for a message at the resource, the checking comprising checking in the message for the one or more other identifier values. In response to detecting one or more of said one or more other identifier values, said communication device can take one or more actions associated with said detected one or more of said one or more other identifier values.
System and methods of sending and receiving a relay notification
A system for sending a relay notification comprises a transceiver and a processor. The processor is configured to use the transceiver to receive a request for allowing a mobile device to be used by a further mobile device as a relay to a mobile communication network. The processor is further configured to determine whether the mobile device is to act as a relay for the further mobile device based on the unique identifier of the further mobile device, and to use the transceiver to notify the mobile device that it is to act as a relay for the further mobile device in dependence on the determination. The mobile device is configured to receive the notification from the system. The processor is further configured to start relaying data received from the further mobile device to the mobile communication network upon receiving the notification.
STATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION DEVICE, WEARABLE COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND STATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION METHOD
An embodiment of the present invention not only protects user's privacy but also reliably notifies a user of a change in state of an external communication device. A state change notification device (1) includes: an information receiving section (11) that receives state change information in a case where a change in state occurs in a device (100, 200, 300, or 400) in which an external communication device (500) or the state change notification device (1) is provided; and an expansion control section (12) that controls inflation of a balloon (24) provided in a wristwatch-type communication device (100) so that an inner pressure of the balloon (24) will be a user-perceivable pressure.
