Multi-user parallel channel access in WLAN systems

Methods and apparatuses are related to multi-user parallel channel access (MU-PCA). For example, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is provided that is one of the plurality of WTRUs operable to simultaneously communicate via a plurality of channels managed by an access point (AP). The WTRU includes a receiver configured to receive, from the AP, over at least one channel of the plurality of channels, a group poll (G-Poll) message that includes a resource allocation that indicates at least one allocated channel of the plurality of channels for the WTRU; and a transmitter configured to transmit an uplink request message, to the AP in response to the G-Poll message, over the at least one allocated channel of the plurality of channels, the uplink request message corresponding to uplink data the WTRU has for transmission to the AP.

WIRELESS LAN SYSTEM, ACCESS POINT DEVICE, AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD

In a wireless LAN system that performs multi-user transmission, an access point device includes: a selection unit configured to select, as terminals to be caused to transmit CTS in response to an MU-RTS frame, terminals that satisfy predetermined conditions and include at least a terminal that is to be protected and has to satisfy predetermined low latency and low jitter, regardless of whether or not the terminals are terminals to which a resource for transmitting data should be allocated; an allocation unit configured to allocate the resource for transmitting data to the terminals; a frame generation unit configured to generate the MU-RTS frame such that the terminals selected by the selection unit transmit the CTS, and generates a frame that contains a signal indicating the resource allocated by the allocation unit; and a communication unit configured to transmit the frames generated by the frame generation unit to the plurality of terminals. The selection unit selects terminals the number of which is greater than or equal to the number of terminals to which the resource is allocated by the allocation unit.

Wireless device, communication device, wireless control method, communication control method, and program

There is provided a wireless device configured to perform both multi-user spatial multiplex communication and single user communication with a communication device. The wireless device is configured to set a first waiting time for the single user communication, and count the first waiting time in a period in which a second waiting time for the multi-user spatial multiplex communication is counted. The wireless device then transmits data through the single user communication after the first waiting time expires.

Methods performed by a first device. The methods include transmitting a first ranging poll to a plurality of second devices, receiving a polling response message from each of at least a first subset of the second devices, determining a propagation delay for each of the received polling response messages and determining a distance to each of the first subset of the second devices based on at least the respective propagation delays. The methods further include receiving a ranging poll from a second device, wherein the ranging poll is one of a multicast transmission or a broadcast transmission, determining a type of response to be transmitted to the second device based on at least a capability of the first device and transmitting a response of the determined type to the second device.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMISSION MANAGEMENT IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A method and apparatus may be used in wireless communications. The apparatus may be an access point (AP), and may transmit a power save frame. The power save frame may include one or more Uplink (UL) Transmission Times (ULT)s. The apparatus may determine that a station (STA) did not transmit during its respective ULT. The AP may transmit another power save frame. The other power save frame may include a modified ULT. The modified ULT may be for a STA that did not transmit during its respective ULT. The other power save frame may include an unmodified ULT. The unmodified ULT may be for a STA that did not transmit.
