HOME AGENT DISCOVERY UPON CHANGING THE MOBILITY MANAGEMENT SCHEME

The invention relates to a method for discovering a home agent serving a mobile node upon the mobile node changing its mobility management scheme in a packet-switched network and the implementation of such method in a mobile node or home agent. In order to propose a home agent discover scheme that maintains session continuity in a seamless manner upon a mobile node changing its mobility management scheme, a mobile node comprises information on its location prior to changing the mobility management scheme to one of the first signaling messages transmitted upon changing the mobility management scheme (home agent discovery message). The receiving node uses this information to identify the home agent serving the mobile node or to provide a hint to the home agent where the mobile node is registered in a response message to the mobile node.

A communication device capable of certainly preventing an external device incompatible with an IPv6 address from acquiring the IPv6 address. A display unit is controlled so as to display a QR image including an IPv4 address of the communication device when the IPv4 address is valid in the communication device. When the IPv4 address is invalid and the IPv6 address is valid in the communication device, the display unit is controlled so as not to display a QR image including the IPv6 address of the communication device.

A mobile node includes a plurality of transceivers, has a network conforming to network-based mobility as its home link and performs position registration to a positional managing apparatus and performs position registration to the position managing apparatus through a foreign network by position registration conforming to host-based mobility. In mobile node and position managing apparatus, a plurality of routes passing through the home link and the foreign link are established. Accordingly, when the mobile node has the plurality of transceivers, it can simultaneously connect to the home link and the foreign link through respective transceivers, to perform communication.

A method and an apparatus for establishing a user plane bearer are provided. The method includes receiving a transport layer address supported by a serving gateway (SGW)/packet gateway (PGW) from a mobile management entity (MME), selecting, by a radio access network (RAN) entity, directly the appropriate transport layer address to establish the user plane bearer, or after receiving the transport layer address transmitted by the SGW/PGW, selecting, by the MME, the appropriate transport layer address to establish the user plane bearer, or reporting, by the MME, the obtained transport layer address used by the access entity to the SGW/PGW to establish the user plane bearer.

Border router of a wireless mesh network extending connectivity of wireless stations to external networks

A wireless device receives a sequence of packets in a first set of durations on a first wireless network according to a first wireless protocol. The border router forwards the received sequence of packets in a second set of durations on a second wireless network according to a second wireless protocol. None of the first set of durations overlaps with any of the second set of durations. The first set of durations and the second set of durations are realized according to time division multiplexing. The sequence of packets are received and forwarded by the wireless device using a shared transceiver. In an embodiment, the wireless device is a border router of a wireless mesh network, and the first wireless protocol and the second wireless protocol are respectively according IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.11.

NETWORK CORE HANDLING OF DUAL STACK INTERNET PROTOCOL (IP)

Solutions for improved network core handling of dual stack internet protocol (IP), such as IPv4v6, include receiving, by a first wireless network node, from a user equipment (UE), a request for a packet data session, the request identifying a dual stack IP type having a first IP type and a second IP type; based on at least the first IP type of the dual stack IP type not matching a supported IP type of a second wireless network node, receiving, by the first wireless network node, from the second wireless network node, a deregistration request for the UE; and transmitting, by the first wireless network node, to the UE, a message that triggers the UE to request a new packet data session without exiting the current radio access technology (RAT). In some examples, the first network node comprises an access mobility function (AMF) or a mobility management entity (MME).
