METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PERFORMING ASYNCHRONOUS OPERATIONS IN A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Embodiments herein include a method for concurrently performing asynchronous operations over IPv4 and IPv6 in a mobile device. The method includes capturing a DNS query-pattern of a plurality of DNS queries for a plurality of services of an application in the mobile device. Further, the method includes performing a DNS lookup in a DNS cache, to obtain a DNS resolution over the IPv4 and the IPv6 based on the DNS query-pattern of the plurality of DNS queries for the plurality of services of the application. Further, the method includes storing the DNS resolution based on the DNS lookup in the DNS cache. Further, the method includes triggering a TCP connection using a pre-connected connection descriptor based on a domain name resolution. Further, the method includes storing the pre-connected connection descriptor corresponding to the TCP connection in a connection pool cache.

Home agent discovery upon changing the mobility management scheme

The invention relates to a method for discovering a home agent serving a mobile node upon the mobile node changing its mobility management scheme in a packet-switched network and the implementation of such method in a mobile node or home agent. In order to propose a home agent discover scheme that maintains session continuity in a seamless manner upon a mobile node changing its mobility management scheme, a mobile node comprises information on its location prior to changing the mobility management scheme to one of the first signaling messages transmitted upon changing the mobility management scheme (home agent discovery message). The receiving node uses this information to identify the home agent serving the mobile node or to provide a hint to the home agent where the mobile node is registered in a response message to the mobile node.

LAWFUL INTERCEPT REPORTING IN WIRELESS NETWORKS USING PUBLIC SAFETY RELAYS

A relay device assists in enabling lawful intercept (LI) by reporting, to a LI entity associated with the cellular network, authenticated identities of remote UEs (such as remote UEs connected via proximity services) and identification information that may allow the LI entity to monitor traffic (and/or control statistics related to the traffic) associated with the remote UEs. The authentication of the remote UEs may be performed using a technique that does not require involvement of the cellular network.

Method and Apparatus for Supporting Event Monitoring

The present disclosure provides a method (400) for supporting event monitoring in a first apparatus, comprising: sending (S401) to a second apparatus a monitoring request message including a monitoring type parameter indicating a requested monitoring event to be monitored for one or a group of User Equipment UEs; and receiving (S402) from the second apparatus a first monitoring response message or a first monitoring indication message including a monitoring event report of the requested monitoring event of the one or group of UEs.

Method and apparatus for managing session to change a user plane function in a wireless communication system

The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. The present disclosure further relates to a method by a session management function (SMF) in a network including a session that is established via a first user plane function (UPF). The method includes determining whether to change the first UPF to a second UPF, and transmitting, to a terminal via an access and mobility function (AMF), a first message including a maintain time of the session established via the first UPF, when the first UPF needs to be changed.

User-configurable sensor platform

A sensor platform includes a programmable microcontroller to execute programming associated with one or more sensors in order to receive data from the one or more sensors and generate reports based on the data, and to enter a power-down mode in the absence of the data. The sensor platform also includes first and second transceivers. The first transceiver is configured to establish wireless connectivity with user devices using a first wireless protocol and to receive the programming from one or more of the user devices using the first wireless protocol. The second transceiver is configured to transmit the reports to a gateway using a second wireless protocol that is lower power, longer range, and/or lower fidelity than the first wireless protocol.

PDU type setting method, UE policy setting method, and related entity

A protocol data unit (PDU) type setting method, a user equipment (UE) policy setting method, and a related entity, where the PDU type setting method includes: setting, by UE, a requested PDU type of a PDU session in a process of establishing the PDU session, where the requested PDU type of the PDU session is set by the UE based on a first condition, the first condition includes an Internet Protocol (IP) version corresponding to an application, and the application is associated with the PDU session. In the embodiments of the present disclosure, the requested PDU type of the PDU session can be consistent with a PDU type requested by the application, such that the application can normally perform communication.
