A method performed by a first network node (12) for handling a communication session, wherein the first network node (12) is associated with a first communication network operated by a first operator. The first network node sets Sup a data channel between the first network node and a second wireless device (14). The second wireless device is associated with a second communication network operated by a second operator. The first network node further provides data over the setup data channel to the second wireless device (14), wherein the data is related to a service provided for a first wireless device serviced by the first operator.

DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD AND APPARATUS

A data transmission method and apparatus. The method is applied to a first integrated access and backhaul (IAB) donor, and includes: receiving a first message from a core network element, where the first message carries an identifier of a first protocol data unit (PDU) session and a first data network name (DNN) associated with the identifier of the first PDU session, and the first DNN indicates a local data network corresponding to a first IAB node; the first IAB node includes a first IAB central unit-user plane (CU-UP), a first IAB-distributed unit (DU), and a first IAB-mobile terminal (MT); and the first IAB CU-UP is connected to the local data network; and notifying the first IAB CU-UP to establish the first PDU session.

WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS THROUGH SESSION COMMUNICATION PROXIES
20230239964 · 2023-07-27 ·

Session Communication Proxies (SCPs) generate SCP status information and/or SCP location information. A source network function selects one of the SCPs based on the SCP status information and/or the SCP location information. The source network function transfers data to the selected one of the SCPs. The selected one of the SCPs receives the data, selects a target network function, and transfers the data to the target network function. In some examples, a Network Repository Function (NRF) prioritizes the SCPs based on the SCP status information and/or the SCP location information, and the source network function selects the one of the SCPs based on the SCP prioritization.

Method and network node for handling a service setup for a user equipment

A method performed by a serving core network node in a communications network, for handling a service setup for a target User Equipment (UE) located in the communications network. The serving core network node receives a service setup request directed towards the target UE. The serving core network node sends a ping message to the target UE in response to the service setup request prior to a completion of a terminating service handling procedure of the serving network, wherein the terminating service handling procedure is completed when the service setup request is forwarded from a serving core network towards the target UE.

Enabling functionality at a user plane function, UPF, by a session management function, SMF, in a telecommunication network

A method of enabling functionality at a User Plane Function, UPF, by a Session Management Function, SMF, in a telecommunication network. The method includes receiving, by the UPF, a session creation/modification message for creating/modifying a session between the UPF and the SMF, wherein the session creation/modification message includes a session functionality indication for indicating functionality to be enabled for said session, and enabling, by the UPF, the functionality during the session between said UPF and the SMF.

Techniques that provide low latency traffic segregation to ensure an edge user plane (UP) is not overloaded are described herein in at least one embodiment. In at least one embodiment, a method may include determining offload of low latency traffic of a user equipment (UE) at a mobile network edge, wherein the UE has non-low latency traffic associated with a first packet data network session for an access point name; notifying the UE to request creation of a second packet data network session for the access point name; selecting an edge UP element to handle the low latency traffic for the second packet data network session; creating the second packet data network session at the selected edge UP element; and notifying the UE that second packet data network session is created.
