METHOD FOR DETECTING NEIGHBOURING NODES ABLE TO COMMUNICATE BY POWERLINE AND BY A RADIO CHANNEL

A method and device for detecting the ability of a neighbouring node to communicate by powerline on a frequency band and by a radio channel in a mesh communication network, wherein each node device sends packets on a frequency band and over the radio channel: generates and sends a frame including a field including primitives, one primitives indicating an address of the node device, another primitives indicating an address of a node device for which the frame does not include any address is intended, checks whether an enhanced beacon frame is received and if so: reads in the frame received an address of a node device for which the frame received is intended, checks whether the address read is identical to its address, identifies the node device that sent the enhanced beacon frame received as a neighbouring node able to communicate by powerline and by radio channel.

A network transmits, toward a terminal, regulation information that regulates access to the network by the terminal. The network includes a first mobile communication network and a second mobile communication network different from the first mobile communication network, and transmits regulation information in units of the second mobile communication network toward the terminal.

Printing device, and control method of a printing device, that is paired with an external device using bluetooth

A printing device has a print unit for printing on roll paper; a wireless communication unit for communicating wirelessly with a paired control device; and a controller for receiving print data by wireless communication from the control device, and controlling the print unit based on the received print data. When changing from a pairing-disabled mode to a pairing-enabled mode, the controller controls the print unit to print pairing-related information on roll paper, does not process pairing in the pairing-disabled mode, and processes pairing when a pairing request is received in the pairing-enabled mode.

Apparatus and method for integrating short-range wireless personal area networks for a wireless local area network infrastructure

A network system comprises a first logic block providing a link to a first network via an access point of a WLAN and a second logic block communicating with a node of a second network (such as a WPAN) and configured to provide a link between the node and the first network via the access point. The network system is configured to maintain continuous connections to both the access point and the node while receiving power. The second logic block can communicate with the node using a modified communication protocol that is only partially compliant with an 802.11x communications protocol. A wireless hub can integrate a WPAN with a WLAN including, in part, a wireless circuit compliant with the WLAN standard (such as an 802.11x standard), a processor, and a memory. The wireless circuit can connect to the WPAN without losing connectivity (such as association and synchronization) to the WLAN.

Prioritizing digital assistant responses

A method and apparatus for prioritizing a digital-assistant response is provided herein. During operation a personal-area network (PAN) master device will have knowledge of a status of devices forming the PAN and/or have knowledge of a current incident type assigned to a user. The PAN master device will then prioritize any responses/suggestions to the user based on the status of associated PAN devices and/or the incident type.

Service announcements in wireless communication systems

A radio access network (RAN) for a wireless communication network transmits, to user equipment (UE), information about NPN services provided by a non-public network (NPN) supported by the wireless network, where the UE is not subscribed to the NPN. In some embodiments, the NPN service information is periodically broadcasted to the UE; in other embodiments, the information is transmitted in response to receiving a request from the UE. In response to receiving the NPN service information, the UE transmits and the RAN receives an on-boarding request from the UE to on-board the UE to the NPN, which the RAN forwards to an on-boarding network (OBN) of the wireless network. In response, the RAN receives NPN credentials for the UE from the OBN, which the RAN forwards to the UE, which uses the NPN credentials to register to the NPN, thereby enabling the non-subscribing UE to subscribe to the NPN.

A home network controller (HNC) device includes a memory and a processor configured to execute instructions stored on the memory to cause the HNC device to: instruct an APD to communicate with a client device over a first channel; receive a client information signal from the APD, wherein the client information signal relates to the client device and includes client disassociation data and client identification data; instruct the APD to communicate with the client device over a second channel; and transmit a channel information signal to the client device via the external network, wherein the channel information signal includes channel identification data identifying the second channel. The client disassociation data indicates that the client device has disassociated from the APD. The client identification data enables the processor to transmit the channel information signal to the client device via the external network.

Methods and systems for managing SNPN access mode

A method disclosed herein includes selecting, by the UE, a SNPN for registration, on the SNPN access mode being enabled. The method includes disabling, by the UE, the SNPN access mode, if the selected SNPN does not support at least one emergency service. The method includes enabling, by the UE, a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) selection mode to select a PLMN cell supporting the at least one emergency service, on the SNPN access mode being disabled. The method includes performing, by the UE, the at least one emergency service by camping on the selected PLMN cell. The method includes enabling, by the UE, the SNPN access mode for performing a SNPN selection procedure, on completion of the at least one emergency service.
