The plurality of antennas are configured to form a plurality of spatial or directional beams. The user device is configured to provide simultaneously a plurality of independent wireless communication links using the plurality of spatial or directional beams, wherein the user device is configured to provide a first wireless communication link with a first wireless network element using a first spatial or directional beam and to provide a second wireless communication link with a second wireless network element using a second antenna beam.
Methods for monitoring state information of items
Methods and system for processing shopping activity for a retail store are provided. One example method includes associating a plurality of sensor devices to monitor a shelf of the retail store. The shelf having one or more physical items and each of the physical items is capable of being associated with a state change in response to user interaction. The method includes detecting user interaction by a user in the retail store with a physical item of the one or more physical items. The user interaction causes the state change in a sensor device associated with the shelf, and responsive to the state change transmitting a message related to the state change over a network to an end node. The end node is configured to receive the message causing processing of an action based on the message. The one or more physical items are offered for sale in the store and data regarding the user interaction of the physical item is associated to a user account of the user. The user interaction is one of the physical item being touched, being lifted from the shelf, being moved from the shelf, or being released from the shelf of the retail store.
APPARATUS AND METHOD OF TRANSMITTING CONTENT
A wireless media player and a related system and methodology are provided. One aspect of the wireless media player system pertains to a virtual connector system, apparatus, and method for the automatic establishment of wireless connectivity with other electronic devices. In one embodiment, the media player device displays one of the stored display content, communicates configuration information with at least one target device via a proximity wireless link, establishes a communication link with the at least one target device in accordance with the configuration information communicated via the proximity wireless link and transmits a content which corresponds to the display content being displayed on the display unit at a time of establishing the proximity wireless link to the at least one target device over the established communication link.
MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS RADIO RECEIVER FOR MULTIPLE NETWORK OPERATION
A mobile communications radio receiver for multiple radio network operation includes an RF unit for generating a first down-converted signal from a radio signal received from a first radio network and a second down-converted signal from a radio signal received from a second radio network. Further, it includes a first receiver comprising a paging indicator channel demodulator for demodulating a paging indicator channel of the first radio network based on the first down-converted signal, and a second receiver including a pilot channel demodulator for demodulating a pilot channel of the second radio network based on the second down-converted signal. A first data connection is configured to couple paging information contained in the second down-converted signal to an input of the paging indicator channel demodulator of the first receiver.
MOBILITY MANAGEMENT IN JOINT OPERATION OF RADIO ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for joint operation of two or more radio access technologies (RATs) is provided. One method includes determining, by a network node of a first radio access technology, that a user equipment is about to connect with a second radio access technology. The method may further include informing the second radio access technology that the connection with the user equipment is a dual-radio access technology connection. The second radio access technology is one of a master or slave radio access technology, and the slave radio access technology has restricted mobility management functionality compared to the master radio access technology.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COMMUNICATION USING IP ADDRESS EXCHANGED VIA NFC
A method of performing communication with a second communication device by a first communication device is provided. The method includes identifying an Internet Protocol (IP) address for communication with a first communication network, providing data including the IP address to the second communication device connected through a second communication network, and executing a communication application being connected with the second communication device via the first communication network using the IP address.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS APPARATUS AND METHODS
A method of operating first and second terminal devices for transmitting data in a device-to-device communication mode in a wireless telecommunications system supporting communications on a first carrier operating over a first frequency band and a second carrier operating over a second frequency band. The first terminal device transmits control signalling on the first carrier and this is received by the second terminal device. The control signalling comprises an indication of an allocation of radio resource blocks on the second carrier to be used for transmitting user-plane data from the first terminal device to the second terminal device. The first terminal device then proceeds to transmit the user-plane data to the second terminal device on the second carrier using the radio resource blocks on the second carrier identified by the control signalling. The control signalling may also provide an indication of an allocation of radio resource blocks on the first carrier to be used for transmitting user-plane data to the second terminal device.
OBTAINING OF ACCESS RIGHTS TO A NETWORK, IMPLEMENTED BY A COMMUNICATING OBJECT
A method performed by a communicating object to obtain rights to access a communications network. The object initially has rights limited to exchanging data with a rights management platform of the network. The method includes: sending a signaling message to the platform; and receiving a communications profile specific to the network. The profile is associated in the network with rights specific to the object, referred to as “delegated” rights. The delegated rights are defined on the basis of network access rights associated with a user of the object and referred to as “initial” rights. The delegated rights are suitable for enabling the communicating object to access the communications network.
