Among other things, embodiments of the present disclosure improve the functionality of electronic messaging and imaging software and systems by automating the client-side transcoding of video data based on content. For example, an appropriate transcoding configuration can be selected for video data having complex motion or textures. Accordingly, video quality can be improve when complex motions or textures are present.

USER TERMINAL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

Disclosed are a user terminal device and a control method therefor. The control method for a user terminal device according to the present invention comprises the steps of: determining state information of a satellite device connected with a user terminal device when a call request message is received from another terminal device; determining communication configuration information with the another terminal device on the basis of the state information of the satellite device, and transmitting a call response message including the communication configuration information to the another terminal device; and receiving audio data from the another terminal device according to a communication scheme corresponding to the communication configuration information. Therefore, in comparison with the prior art, the present invention can reduce a call negotiation time between user terminal devices, and thus reduce a call cost.

Synthetic communication network method and system
10136272 · 2018-11-20 · ·

Methods and systems for registering a phone device on a synthetic communication network are described. One implementation receives a request to connect the phone device to a synthetic communication network that transmits messages over a data network using one or more phone numbers from a voice network. A phone number and a country code associated with the phone device to be used for communications over the synthetic network are obtained. The phone number is normalized to a standard format distinguishing the resulting normalized phone number from international phone numbers using the synthetic network. Before the phone device is registered, an association between the normalized phone number and the phone device is verified by sending a verification message addressed to the phone device that loops back to the phone device. If the phone device confirms the verification as authentic, an authorization allows the phone device to communicate over the synthetic network.

A device may perform a testing operation on a device under test. The device may obtain test result data based on performing the testing operation on the device under test. The device may identify a user device that is to receive the test result data associated with the device under test from the device and via a network. The device may be in communication with a set of user devices via the network. The set of user devices may include the user device. The user device may control operation of the device. The device may determine network condition information associated with the user device and the network. The device may provide, using a technique that is based on the network condition information, the test result data to the user device. The user device may receive the test result data based on controlling operation of the device.

DYNAMIC RATE ADAPTATION DURING REAL-TIME LTE COMMUNICATION
20180262540 · 2018-09-13 ·

Methods and computing systems for dynamic rate adaption during real-time Long Term Evolution (LTE) communication are described. A real-time LTE communication session with another mobile device is established over an LTE connection. The real-time LTE communication session is established with codec rate. A monitor component receives data indicating a performance of the real-time LTE communication session, and causes the real-time LTE communication component to perform, during the real-time LTE communication session, a renegotiation of the codec rate based at least on the performance of the real-time LTE communication session.

Reducing call setup delay in geomobile satellite networks

In some embodiments, a disclosed method involves receiving, by a source gateway, a call request from a source user terminal for establishing a call with a destination user terminal. The method further involves determining, by a source client proxy of the source gateway, a capability related to a parameter(s) of the source user terminal and a capability related to a parameter(s) of the destination user terminal. Also, the method involves sending, by the source client proxy, a call capability offer to a destination gateway based on the determined capabilities. Additionally, the method involves determining, by a destination client proxy of the destination gateway, whether the destination user terminal can support the call capability offer. Also, the method involves sending, by the destination client proxy, a call initiation message to the destination user terminal, when the destination client proxy determines that the destination user terminal can support the call capability offer.

SIGNAL SENDING METHOD, DEVICE, AND SYSTEM

Embodiments of the present application provide a signal sending method, a device, and a system. A base station modulates, by using a first modulation scheme, signaling carried in a control channel, and modulates, by using a second modulation scheme, data carried in a traffic channel; and the base station sends, to UE, a signal obtained after modulation. In this way, the base station can independently select a modulation scheme for the control channel and the traffic channel, avoiding a case in which a modulation scheme used by the control channel and a modulation scheme used by the traffic channel must be the same, so that the base station can flexibly select a channel modulation scheme.

Bridging wireless network traffic

A wireless network bridge controls a first network interface to operate as a first station in a first wireless network, and controls a second network interface to operate as an access point in a second wireless network. The bridge controls a bridge table that includes an entry associating one or more network addresses of a second station with the second network interface. The second station is accessible through the second network interface operating as an access point. The bridge receives a packet for communication between the second station and a network device in the first wireless network; examines the packet to find one or more network addresses included in the packet; associates the packet with the second station by performing a lookup of the bridge table; and communicates packet information with the second station through the second network interface, and with the network device through the first network interface.

Delivery of information over a communication channel

Methods and apparatus are described for transmitting information units over a plurality of constant bit rate communication channel. The techniques include encoding the information units, thereby creating a plurality of data packets. The encoding is constrained such that the data packet sizes match physical layer packet sizes of the communication channel. The information units may include a variable bit rate data stream, multimedia data, video data, and audio data. The communication channels include CMDA channels, WCDMA, GSM channels, GPRS channels, and EDGE channels.
